After buying and initially loving both the aluminum and stainless whirlypop, they both failed in a short period of time. I was very disappointed in their quality, especially with the cost of the stainless model. On a whim and because I'm a gadget/gizmo/kitchen utensil lover/hoarder, I purchased this popper. Fabulous! Easy to clean and store and makes great popcorn. I use my microwave popcorn button and voilà! There has been a few unpopped kernels, but I just put it back in after eating the popped corn and every last kernel pops. Great invention. The little handles are great too. They don't get hot and make it easy to maneuver.

I love these thIngs so much this is now the 3rd one I've bought. I have one at home and at the office, and got one for a co worker. They are simple and easy and work great. I just buy regular popcorn and put in a little oil and salt. I never burn in the office anymore and it tastes way better than the bags with none of the chemical taste. The silicon is easy to clean, just be careful since they are supper hot when you take out of the microwave.

I have used several different kinds of popcorn poppers. I don't like the prepacked popcorn because of the "bad" ingredients in all of them. I recently thought about ordering the Pampered Chef popcorn popper but decided on the Hotpop because of the price. I just got the Hotpop yesterday. We made our first batch of popcorn last night. The directions indicate two to four minutes in most microwaves. I have a fairly new microwave (not even a year old), and four minutes was definitely not enough time...there were a lot of unpopped kernels. I always used five minutes with my other poppers and will definitely try five minutes with my next batch in the Hotpop. Other than not all the kernels popping with the first batch we made, I like the Hotpop and like the fact that it is so easy to store. I especially like that I can oil and other ingredients that I could not do in some of my previous popcorn poppers.

This popper arrived promptly with absolutely no hassles; if I find a need for more corn poppers you can bet I'll be back to order again from this seller. Now, for the nitty-gritty . . .

I finally had a chance to try it out and was very happy with the result. For the first run at it, I used just a quarter cup of popcorn with a little oil and kept it very simple. If this could be considered a test, it passed with flying colors so the next round will be trying out one of the gourmet recipes that Dave Fowler, the HotPop owner, provides via email. For my purposes, this is danged near perfect. The last time I bought a case of microwave popcorn from Costco, while the product was fine, I had difficulties using it up before the expiration date so I expect this to be a much more economical solution to those must-have-popcorn events.

I saw some reviewers mentioned the unusal flexibility of the popper - that was kind of a surprise to me, too. You do have to be careful how you handle it but it isn't that tough once you're clear that grasping it by BOTH handles is key to avoiding catastrophe. No hand protection is necessary . . . pull it out of the microwave then dump it into a serving bowl and you're all set. Clean up is easy, then when totally dry, collapse it and put it back in the cupboard. Nifty!

Maybe I just haven't gotten the hang of this popper. Initially there were a lot of old maids on generic popcorn. Changing over to a premium yellow corn with a tablespoon of oil improved the pop immensely. Notably, my microwave is taking upwards of 4 mm 30 ss. The texture and taste of the popcon was consistently good. The long pop time may indicate a couple of things; low wattage oven or its on its way for a replacement. However, microwave popcorn pops fine. The advantage of this popper is great convenience. Three steps: open popper, add popcorn, microwave. I will continue to perfect technique and report back.
