I was sorely disappointed to find out that this thing didn't work right out of the box. It was like the gears inside were greased properly or something because it would feel like it was grinding/scraping something inside and then stick, say at 80 ft-lbs for example, and I couldn't get it to go past that without backing off the spring a bit and then screwing it back forward with force and speed. Wait, that sounded dirty. Eh, you know what I mean.
In what seems like a contradiction, there was also grease residue left behind which I thought was odd considering how rough and scrape-y it felt when I turned the handle. I tried screwing and unscrewing the handle a few times to see if maybe it would loosen up, but if anything, it got even worse. So within just a couple minutes of opening the box, it went right back inside.
I guess I'll have to cough up the extra $10 for the TEKTON 1/2-Inch Drive Torque Wrench, and I recommend you do the same.

Good Wrench, Good Value, Glad to have it!

This is the second 'click type' torque wrench I have owned in the past ten years, and I like that this one has an etched and painted scale. The adjustment system functions well on the wrench I received, but I would like it even more if the scale was more spread out so that I could read it without a magnifying glass!
I have used this specific wrench to torque my lug nuts and the spark plugs in my car and I am satisfied with the way that it worked.
This one came with a case, but not the three inch extension or the 1/2 -3/8 adapter, but it was also the most inexpensive, and for what I paid I am pleased with the way this functions....I see very few negative reviews so that tells me that quality control is at work here and the design is well tested over time.

Half of a torque wrench arrived...

I am not the sort of person who does 1 star reviews, but...
I used to own a cheap unbranded torque wrench that worked and passed calibration until it had an unfortunate accident.
I purchased this to replace it, my first attempt at using it was in an awkward situation where I had to use an extension on the wrench and come in from the other side because there wasn't enough clearance. The wrench wouldn't work, not at all.
I emailed customer support and to my surprise this wrench is designed this way... "Our torque wrenches are reversible in both directions and measures torque in clockwise direction (right)."
In other words if you need to torque a left hand screw this will not work for you, if you have no clearance for the wrench and try to reverse it, it will not work for you. If you are doing AR building this may work for you some of the time.
Reversing the wrench was never a problem with the unbranded wrench, I feel like I have bought a bicycle with only 1 wheel.

Look, you bought a cheap torque wrench. So ya got a cheap torque wrench.
It seems to do the job.
However it isnt super accurate.
And it doesnt torque "click" in both directions. So if youve got a reverse threaded nut, Like I do on the clutch basket on my 1993 FLSTF, then you cant get a torque reading in that direction.
Still, it seems to work ok in the "forward" direction.

Works as advertised

My first torque wrench. Can't compare it to others but after changing my motorcycle tires and other maintenence on the bike, all the bolts were tightened to their specified torque and haven't come loose. Seemed more loose than I would hand tighten but maybe this kept me from over tightening. Seems good quality. Will continue to use and update this as necessary.
