This is worth it! I have relaxed hair and these weekly (sometimes biweekly) steam treatments help tremendously with breakage and dryness. After I shampoo my hair, I coat my hair thoroughly with a sauve coconut conditioner and some type of oil and will steam my hair 20-30 mins. The only thing I don't like is that the hood is not adjustable so you have to find the right height that suits you.
Results are there if you can work around it’s drawbacks

When I read the reviews for this product, I almost didn't want to buy it. I decided to give it a chance and I love it. It is easy to assemble and if you follow the instruction you shouldn't have any problems. With that being said, it does have a few drawbacks. It is not adjustable but if you find the right chair and table height you can make it work. When I first started steaming the back of my hair wasn't getting steamed. I realized I needed to sit further into the steamer hood than at salons. I am a 4B/C naturalista. I part my hair into four sections and bobby pin them up towards the crown of my head with my deep conditioner/hair mask on. After letting the steamer warm up and produce steam (about 3-5 minutes), I sit under the hood for 19 minutes (any longer than that and it yells at me that the water is too low). Then I cover my head in a plastic cap wait for the machine to cool down a little (roughly 5 minutes) add more water and repeat. Honestly my hair is nicely steamed after the 19 minute session but I'm just extra. Also, the way to add water is a little awkward. The directions say to add from the top and pull out this stopper but that takes too long and I am impatient. So I get a pouring cup with a spout and just fill the cup to the max line while it is detached from the holding spot but still within the apparatus. I love this product but you will have to figure out a way to work with it. I hope this helps.
