Good thought, but no.

The product itself is exactly as described and this is just a personal preference. It is a very light product and good for the environment, which is why i tried it, but I could definitely smell and unsavory smell by day 2 or 3 when you're supposed to "stir it". Also, my cat didn't seem to mind it..in fact she liked just laying in her litter box when I put it in there...the only problem is that in doing so, and using the box in the normal fashion, this stuff tracks everyyywhheerree. I read a review before I bought it where someone didn't like it and referred to it as tracking coffee grounds throughout the house...I thought, "how bad can it be." It's bad. I don't have a messy cat, but this stuff was everywhere. If she hopped in there it would cling to her paws and her fur and when she hopped onto our bed, little coffee grounds were left on our bed, the carpet, the floor, everywhere. Not worth the hassle of vacuuming or walking through that everyday.
Still not sure

So we are on day one hasn't even been 24hrs since I put this litter in the box only a half bag. Like many others have said this litter is very light so the cats will fling this more than regular litter. I will be investing a litter box that is enclosed with a hole at the top. Besides the litter absolutely everywhere you literally stir the urine and scoop the poop no more heavy heavy bags the trashmen won't take! The cats are definatly curious about the new litter but they all use it some may not but mine do. I will update once I use this more. Also go to there own website its cheaper and free shipping if you set up the automatic shipment which you can cancel at anytime.

Update just read should only use 1.5 to 2 inches of litter. I used a half a bag which probably equalled out to 3 inches. Maybe that is why the litter is everywhere but I have my doubts.
Useless for our "hormone heavy" urinators!

This is the first time I've ever written a review on Amazon--but I read them All. The. Time. And I would have appreciated a thorough review of CatSpot litter before we tried it out. So, here we are.

For background, we have 2 cats and 2 boxes, including one large, oversized hooded cat box. They both use both catboxes. We tried this litter for about 2 months and we really wanted to like it (we even went ahead and signed up for the auto-delivery). Having said that, CatSpot was amazing for solid waste (no smell at all), but totally useless for urine (horrible smell, no matter what we did). Unfortunately, our cats pee....a lot!

Fresh out of the bag, CatSpot smells a bit like dirt, which was odd, but fine. We used just an inch-and-a-half on the bottom of each box (the product fluffs up to about 3 times its size as it soaks up the urine, which is sorta gross, really). We scooping our boxes at least once a day, if not twice. With CatSpot we would scoop the solid waste and make extra special sure to mix the rest of the litter around very, very thoroughly (per the suggestion of some of the reviewers). Nevertheless, the ammonia-urine smell was overwhelming within just a couple of days. By one week, it was unbearable. I had to dump the entire box after 5-7 days. I even tried using baking-soda deodorizer and even a deodorizer spray, but nothing helped.

I did call the company and go over how we were using it ("yes, just an inch or so on the bottom. of course we have a box for each cat. yes, we scoop & mix it every day.") Ultimately, the girl on the phone suggested our cats have "high hormone" levels and perhaps CatSpot Litter just won't work for us. Whatever. I concur.
... is another attempt at me trying to find the best cat litter
AlJune 14, 2017
This is another attempt at me trying to find the best cat litter, but it is only so-so. The litter is super lightweight and has a pleasing aroma. It is quite absorbent, so it will last about a week before out two cats have used it up. However, because it is a non-clumping type of litter, I found it too hard to clean up, and the cats threw it all over the place outside the box. I also tried CatSpot in our ScoopFree automatic litter box, but that did not work out so well either. The rake ended up bulldozing much of this litter into the ends of the box.
peat moss is cheaper
ElizaJune 2, 2017
Works great, but peat moss works exactly the same and it is 10$ for a giant bag at the garden center.
This stuff has the same texture as the coco coir you would buy at the garden center.. but for a way inflated price. Peat moss is dirt cheap and works the same. Dump the old litter on you acid loving ornamental garden plants.
