At first I was wary of the book's format. When Ed and Jeff (the authors) announced they had a new book coming out, and that it would be highly visual in nature, I was expecting more of a coffee table style book. Through no fault of their own the book is more artsy, featuring clip art style art in addition to photos, and has an art style that would have more appeal to kids. I was skeptical when I saw the first sample pages, however when I got a copy in my hands all my fears were put to rest. The book looks fantastic! There's not too many full page photos, but everything comes together really well.
The book is by no means comprehensive, but it serves as a nice guide. To those who like to have this sort of information in physical form, rather than on the internet, this would be a great purchase. It also serves as a great introduction to older kids or young teens who are into collecting Lego and may be fascinated by the minifigure aftermarket. This book isn't for everyone, but as long as you know what to expect I can't imagine anyone being dissatisfied with it.
