Assembly was easy by myself. The big selling point for me was the free app that includes workouts and videos of many rowing locations around the world. I built a 24 inch TV stand for it that AirPlays videos from the phone app and streaming programs. The resistance is moderate even at the highest setting but it's effective. My first 20 min workout made me sore the next day but this is not a high cardio activity.

What I like:
Good value. Near Silent mechanism, so I can watch videos while using it. Folds up easily - saves space. Front casters make moving around easier. 2 position footrest locations. Footrests are sturdy. Standup exercise arm curls possible.
Can improve on:
Magnetic resistance could be a bit light (even at maximum setting of 9) for a strong person who wants a more powerful, intense work-out. For me it is ok, I am doing more aerobic, 1000 strokes sessions. If you want a short, high resistance workout, this may not be for you. The seat feels a bit uncomfortable after 30 minutes. I found a solution "“ I wear my biking shorts with built-in seat cushion. I found the standup arm curling position not that useful. I have free weights which work much better for arms. If you don't then this machine may be a good alternative. The assembly is not hard, takes about 15 minutes. Shipment is quite heavy, like 75 pounds. All tools are provided. After assembly, I had to move the foot rests to the lower position because my knees were hitting the row bar. The monitor display very simple info. (Ok for me as I only care about Strokes and ET.)

Knocking and issues with strap not going back in FIXED. I've seen a lot of people having the same issue I had. Got it all put together and it was not bad at all, everything went smooth except one of the large screws/posts I had to use a rubber mallet to get it to go in. Once together I hopped on and gave it a pull, insane knocking and then the strap didn't go back in unless I shook it and kept yanking it. I decided to take the front part(it comes put together) apart and start trying to find the problem. If sitting on the rower, the left side of the wheel and strap mechanism has a few screws and they were rubbing the inside of the welded together mount. It must have taken a blow or two during shipment because there are multiple washers in that area on both sides of the mechanism... The inside washer was knocked inside the left wheel. Hubby used a wrench to maneuver all washers on both sides of the machine mechanism and while I held it in place he put everything back together and we got the casing on and screwed back together and it works perfectly. It's indeed very quiet once that problem is fixed. I wanted to post pics but I'm not giving amazon access to my pictures and storage just to post one picture. I feel bad seeing so many people say it's useless to them now after spending the money so I hope this helps some of you!! I wouldn't say don't buy this because now that it's working as intended, I love it. But if I had $1500 to spend I would have gone for something better. It took us three hours total to put together and fix the issue. Original put together took me, at 6 months pregnant, less than an hour and a half and I was watching a movie while doing it. I've been using the machine for three months now and I'm pretty happy with it. It is a simple rowing machine, nothing fancy about it, but it gets the job done. I live in a small house with roommates and this machine fits in my room well. It is a little hard for me to move around, but I have never had such a hard time with it that it keeps me from working out. It's not the stupidest machine, and for me that's fine since I have a petite frame, but if you are a large dude or something this may not be great for you. For where I am in life right now, and simply wanting the machine for a nice variation in my full body workouts, it's perfect. If you are simply wanting a small machine at a really economical price point that will simply just let you row and get the job done, this is the machine for you.

Was easy to put together. Gives a great work out. The only thing I did not like was that the screen doesn't light up so you can not see the read out.
But other than that I like using it
