Water seal failed. Motor was saturated.

Bought the 2000 gph pump. I got 800 gph out of it with 10ft of pump head. It pumped about 1600 gallons, then slowly quit running. I could tap on it, and it would run again.
I requested a refund and they promptly gave me
the money back without sending the unit back.
I done some investigating on the pump and found that the water tight seal (oring) had let water enter the motor compartment. The motor casing looks pretty solid, like it would act as a second barrier to keep water out of the coils. However, where the wires run through the casing, allowed a small amount of water to get the coils wet. I know this because i dumped about 2 ounces of water out.
I would suggest applying silicone around the wires that go into the actual motor casing and around the oring as well.
It must also be noted that i only had it submerged a few inches while it was pumping, which was maybe 2 hrs.

this little pump worked great for almost two days...ive only been using it intermittantly for a few weeks and it is now absolutely worthless. It pumps at full capacity for awhile then gets weaker and weaker until it stops altogether. It isnt clogged ...strainer is completely clear. The motor in this thing is garbage.
