Perfect for road trips

This player is perfect for busy toddlers who need entertainment during long road trips! We've used this twice - once during a 7-hour road trip and once again during a 3-hour road trip. Our two-year-old loved watching her Disney movies while we traveled and it helped keep her preoccupied and happy the entire time. It doesn't hold a charge very well (barely 3 hours) although we've kept it plugged in for the duration of our trips (the cord easily reaches from the player to our outlet in the center console) to keep it working. The holder we purchased also seems to keep it pretty stationary during our trips. Unfortunately, it does not play Blu Ray, but all of our regular DVDs have worked fine with the exception of The Little Mermaid, which is an older movie (and perhaps the format isn't played in the same way as newer DVDs?). Aside from that, the only con I've found so far is having to pull over to insert new DVDs but all in all a very minor inconvenience considering how much less stressful our road trips are with this player.

Our previous portable DVD player served us well for over 10 years. It finally gave out on us a few weeks ago, and we chose the DBPOWER 10.5" unit as our replacement of choice. This will primarily be used by our 8 year old son. Our first test of this new DVD player was during a long weekend road trip out of state, and I must say we are really impressed! My son had no trouble figuring out how to use it on his own - it's simple to operate. The screen is very large, picture quality is great, audio quality is acceptable (although we usually use headphones), and the included remote control is a really great feature. I will eventually get the headrest mount to make it even more comfortable on long trips, and I love the way the screen swivels around 180 and folds flat (hence the necessity for the remote control since it does not have a touch screen). I thought it would have come with a set of earbuds, but it did not. I did appreciate that it came with both a DC wall plug as well as a 12V car adapter. Battery time is close to advertised. I would definitely recommend this 10.5" DVD player from DBPOWER!!!
