Last winter the water line froze inside the tankless box. I had to defrost it with a heat gun. Not again--
I had this installed, and will rest easy knowing it's safe. In addition to the cable, you'll need zip ties, electrical tape, and a meter to be sure the current is off. My installer cut the plug off, and hard-wired the device. The cable thermostat will turn it on when needed.
Otherwise, the plug would have had to stick out of the box, requiring modification of the box.
