Luck of the draw, some will not retract

Not all of them provide a smooth retraction. One was DOA, the tape can be pulled out, but will not retract. One is starting to act up.
For disposable uses, they are great. For long time use, forget it.

These tapes work well and I love all the colors. My grandsons broke the tape I keep in my purse so I gave them two of these, and I have one and we have several backups if they pull the tape out too far again!
