I bought the clear one, and I would not call it ultra thin. It's a little stiff feeling, and not very clear either. It looks like frosted plastic. I might prefer something slightly thinner, but this does seem like it will be durable. It fits very well. A good thing is that it isn't one of the rubbery ones that hold onto my fingers when I type--ugh, those things drive me nuts.
I think in time I will get used to this one, and it will definitely protect the keys and keep dust out.

I have an older mac, that I have loaned to my granddaughter. Unfortunately, I wore all he letters and numbers off the keyboard. I purchased this to help her in finding all of the keys. She LOVES it, especially the color pallet I chose. It also helps keep any crumbs from her snacking from dropping in under the keys. lol. Great product. highly recommend!
