Unit looks really cool, blows very cold water
Amazon Customer•May 18, 2018
Unit looks really cool, blows very cold water. But the leaking makes it unusable I tried several times but same outcome more than half the water would leak out.
Works Great

I absolutely love my evaLIGHT! I got it to help with the dry air that comes from the heating system in my apartment and I really can tell the difference. My skin and hair do not feel as dried out which is great for protecting them from long-term damage and I love how portable the evaLight is! I keep it on my dresser so that I feel the effects as I am drying and styling my hair. I'm considering getting another for my office space since it would be easy to use the USB at my computer.
This is NOT a room air conditioner.

This little device is only designed to cool the air in your immediate vicinity, about a 3 ft radius, although it feels the coldest if you're directly in front of it. If you are looking for something that will cool down an entire room, this is not what you want. I am very happy with mine. Using the dial/control panel on top, you can adjust the fan speed, color and brightness of the light (or turn it off entirely), change from Celsius to Fahrenheit, and set it to change color when the reservoir is empty.
It is not noisy although adjusting the fan speed will make the fan sound more, or less audible. It cools the air down by at least 10 degrees directly in front of it. The farther it is from you the less cooling you will feel. I don't like cold air blowing directly on me for an extended period of time so I set mine about 2 feet away from me and elevate it a bit. This is also a small device; a little cube about 6.5" wide and 6.5" high. It fits nicely on a desktop, nightstand, end table, or shelf.
I have not experienced any leakage issues. This device also has an inner reservoir in addition to the one on the outside, similar to a Keurig. I suspect some of the leakage issues arise from continuous filling of the tank, which can oversaturate the inner reservoir and lead to leaks. Only refill the tank when it's totally out of water, in both the outer tank and the inner reservoir. You can set the device to change color to let you know this. Even when the outer tank is empty, the device will continue to cool for about 2-3 hours, drawing on the water inside to do this. So wait until the machine lets you know it's totally empty before refilling. Tipping it to the side or not keeping it on a totally flat surface may also cause leaks.
This can also function as a small fan without any water in it. The one thing I have noticed is that it doesn't work well as a humidifier so if you are buying it just for that you may want to look elsewhere. The air it creates is cold, and cold air doesn't hold as much moisture as warmer air. I have a little hygrometer that came with my humidifier and when I set it in front of the device to measure humidity, there was absolutely no change. So if you want more humidity in addition to cooler air, either purchase a different device or use this in conjunction with a humidifier. That said, you don't want the air to be TOO humid because that will decrease the device's ability to cool, similar to a "swamp cooler."

Great product. Well worth the investment

This product is exactly what I was looking for. I took a bit of a chance because the reviews were not fantastic, but I am incredibly happy with my purchase. It is the ideal small humidifier/fan/purifier. While it is small and quiet, it has a big effect. I use it every day and love it. It would be nice if the tank was slightly bigger, but I do not believe that would even be possible while keeping the compact desktop design.
Cool device for air cooling

Almost never write reviews but this device deserves more than just 5 stars. It's awesome for the things it was designed for - cooling down a single person. Not the entire room, guys, it's a PERSONAL air conditioner. No more fights with my gf about whether it's too hot to turn on a wall ac.
My experience with Evapolar: have been using the device for the last couple of weeks, cools the air down to about 68 F during hot summer days in Philly. Leaked 2 times until I figured out it's better not to refill the tank until the device alarms you that it's time. Hope they continue working on the device, there's much to improve. Overall, I'm quite happy.
