I love these pumps!
Jane M.✓ Verified PurchaseAugust 7, 2023
I just received two more of the Current USA eFlux DC Flow Pumps. I now have three 3,170 gph that will be used in an 1800 gallon pond, two that have been used in a 200 gallon goldfish tank and a 300 gallon koi tank (photos attached). And a 1,050 gallon pump used inside a barrel filter to move water through 2 uv filters (photo). They are really quiet and move a ton of water, day after day after day! I used 1-1/2" threaded pvc fitting and 1-1/2" pvc for all my plumbing...the bigger the pipe the more water moved. Have I said I love these pumps?
Great pump, average controller.

I'm using this eFlux 1900 to power an FX6 + CO2 reactor + UV sterilizer + heater. The pump itself is great. It does what it is designed to do: move a lot of water. Compared to my FX6's internal pump, which does around 400gph with the other equipment attached, I'd estimate that it does 600-700gph at full speed and at 5' head. Maybe even more. The only flaw is the fit and finish of the pump itself, and the controller, which is average at best.

Update. I replaced the 1/2 ID tubing with 1.25 ID tubing and the pump is now flowing like Niagara Falls. It doesn't like 1/2" tubing. Put too much head pressure on it. It's lasted about 3 years now without fail. I bumped it up to 4 stars instead of 5 because it would be nice to have a digital readout or notches of some
kind to tell you what the flow rate (doesn't have to consider head pressure) is.

For the money this pump is really low powered. A much cheaper Quite One pump has a much higher actual flow rate. This thing barely trickles. The controller knob is pointless with such a low flow rate. This is supposed to be 1900 GPH but I seriously doubt it. I am running it on a 100 gal reef tank with a 20 gallon sump and an actual 1900 GPH flow rate would be plenty. It also does not detect when the water level is too low and turn itself off. In this price range, it should do so. On the positive side it has been reliable. Though I have cleaned it several times in hopes of getting better flow it really does not need it. On a 40 - 55 gallon tank this might be a decent pump, but for this price you can do much better. it also does not work with universal DC battery backups as Current decided to use a different shaped plug than the other DC pumps. That backup would have come in real handy during the recent freeze in Houston. I plan to replace it as soon as I can. It is a shame I wasted $170 on it.
Very Nice Pump

I bought this pump to replace a failing 18 year old Little Giant pump on my 150 gallon Cichlid tank. The old pump sounded like a commercial refrigeration unit running in the basement. The eFlux pump was relatively easy to install inline on my wet dry filter and is very quiet. It does make a low pitch hum but after the cabinet door where it is housed is shut it's virtually silent compared to my Little Giant. I have to keep checking the water flow to see if it's still running. The only issue I am having with the pump is a slight leak on the discharge nozzle. It's a very slow drip but I haven't been able to stop it so far. I double checked the o-ring to make sure it's seated properly but it hasn't stopped yet. I may have to go to home depot and buy some PVC fittings and make my own modifications if the leak doesn't stop. Anyway I would highly recommend this pump for quality and price. This pump pushes almost twice the amount of water as my old Little Giant but much quieter and about $100.00 cheaper. I would have given it 5 stars if the nozzle set up was a little more efficient and didn't leak.
Very quite pump. Best investment.
