Not sure what happens when the preloaded thread runs out but my 7 year old Loved it! Glad it came with materials and starting items and an an instructional booklet
I will have to look into replacements for the string and material though as once they are done with the what it comes with its useless.

My 5 year old has loved using this! It gives her confidence in making and we've used it beyond the crafts that come with it. Very easy to use. Would recommend for a first sewing machine

I bought this for my 6 yo daughter for the Holiday and I was surprised at how well this works! I would highly recommend. We made the unicorn pattern pillow in about 10 mins. She was so proud and it mimics a real sewing machine. Definitely worth the money!

Wow!! My daughter NEVER sewed before and she hopped right on the machine and never stopped. This is perfect for the beginning sewer and its super safe. No worries about sewing a hand or a sibling's hand to something.
