It does what it says on the tin.
I bought this to replace a cheaper electronic switching halogen driver that produced way too much RFI (radio frequency interference). In contrast, this unit is completely RF-silent. Dimming works a treat, too, but be careful to match your dimmer to your transformer. Check the tech specs for a list of known-good dimmers, or at least make sure you're getting a dimmer that is meant for a magnetic low-voltage lighting transformer.
Has no problems driving a set of LED MR16/GU5.3 lights connected to a cable light system. Specs say it is 85% efficient, which is above average for a magnetic transformer, and about 5-10% less efficient than a noisy electronic (switching) driver.

I used this transformer with the cheaper Lutron Caseta (not the ELV one). So, you can get all the benefits of using a Lutron smart switch and low-voltage dimmable LED's without any low-light issues. I'd recommend you overshoot the WATTS as you'll find yourself adding more lights bc it just works so well. Wiring instructions and mounting are clear and easy to implement.

I was surprised how hard it was to track down this kind of solution. I hated the idea of remote controls and standard wall plugs for my under cabinet lighting. This in conjunction with a wall switch dimmer is exactly what i wanted. I can simply turn the lights on and off and adjust the brightness like all the other lights in my kitchen. I have not noticed any flickering at any level of brightness or the cheap LED hum.
Just to give a scale of what i run. This is wired into a 3' strip of LED, then a 10' run of wire to go over the sink, then into another 3' strip with a wired 90 degree turn before running another 5' strip. I was worried that their would be voltage issues with so many connections and the over all length, but from start to end, all lighting is perfect.
