So after 29 years my old power box that I use for my outside lights started having some issues and I needed to replace it. What I wanted was one with a timer on it that I could set the hours I needed. This was perfect for that. Easy to set up (I'm a 60 ish female) so if I can do it you can too. It's kinda heavy but that's okay. I made sure I hit a stud when I hung it up in my garage. I just hope it outlasts me.

My Hampton Bay low voltage power supply for my outside lighting died after we got almost 2" of rain last week. Now the unit is almost 1.5 years old but water got in it and Poooof! I looked at getting another but then came across the Malibu unit. I like that it has a weather-proof door and the timer and programming buttons are safe inside, unlike the Hampton Bay unit which is exposed to the elements (even though it is OK for outdoors). The summer heat and sun here in AZ are harsh and the plastic covering failed causing the water to enter the unit and die. Looks like this Malibu unit was sent back, missing some parts for mounting "hence the 4 start rating" but I got it covered. Last night at dusk the sensor worked and the lights came on... works for me. We are suppose to get rain tomorrow and will put it to the next test.
