I highly recommend watching video instructions for the Ikea Dignitet curtain system, which is functionally the same as this one. Be very careful about installing the curtains on the correct side (right or left) otherwise you will be unable to easily access the screws that hold the wire in place. Also be careful to install the base at the right orientation (with the post facing the correct direction) otherwise you won't be able to fully screw in the post if you want the wire to hang straight. If you are at least slightly handy and are very careful about installation you should be fine, but the product is fairly fiddly and annoying to work with.

It's Ikea, no where does it say that in the description! I figured I would still give the product a try and hope for the best, no luck! Not an easy install, can not tighten the cable as much as it needs to be with out cutting numerous times. Took it off and returned it! Very disappointed! Went and got curtain rods at target that night!

Strangely, I received an Ikea branded set. This took about 1hr to mount, with most of that time spent looking for a beam and leveling with a laser. I've had this up for about 1 month with heavy floor to ceiling thermal curtains hanging from it without sagging.

A FANTASTIC value. We hung up a new blue sheet and used some string confetti to make it look cute. $50 for everything, and it's super functional. If you live in an apartment use wall anchors instead of trying to find studs. They're super easy to use. No problems here.
Great for a Home or Classroom Art Gallery

I bought three of these cabling systems for my art classroom. I use two of them to hang students' artworks for viewing and critiques. The third is for a gallery of exemplary work. They are perfect for hanging up artwork! I realize they are designed for curtains, but if you have a child who makes a lot of art and want a unique and changeable system for hanging art, this is it. If you live near an Ikea, you can get them cheaper. However, even with the markup, Prime makes this a good deal.
