This sharpener took the nicks out and resharpened the blade in 6 minutes the knife was as good as the day it was bought

I have a Farberware ceramic kitchen knife that with use had several nicks in the blade. This sharpener took the nicks out and resharpened the blade in 6 minutes the knife was as good as the day it was bought.
Hint: when using a ceramic blade the best way to avoid kicks is with only back and forth cutting strokes, a up and down cutting stroke will cause impacts on the cutting board that does cause the nicks in the blade

Better at keeping an edge, but will restore one with patience

I ordered this to sharpen my parents' dangerously dull kitchen knives. It worked great.
I've used it on my knives and brought them back to like new condition.
This works better keeping an edge than creating one, but it will restore a dull knife if you're patient.
The cylinder lasts for many, many sharpenings and comes in and out without too much difficulty.
This is definitely a nice tool to have for my kitchen and I'm glad I bought it.

I wanted to write a review for this item for a few reasons. The most important because it is good. It was exactly what I wanted. A sharpener that worked with my steel and ceramic knives. It even worked with the thinker ceramic ones. Granted not as well as the thinner ones, but still, It worked. They are now sharp. Also because it works on 220/240 as well as 110/120. For someone who travels and lives around the world this is a must. I would want every manufacturer to have this option as standard but most don't. So I would like to give an extra star just for that alone! The item came quicker, perfect shape, nice packing and quickly usable. Well done.
I had my doubts but it did a great job

I used my Black Kyocera ceramic knife almost every day for 2 years. It finally became almost too dull to cut. Pulled the knife about 5 times each side through the coarse and then 5 times through the honing slots. The knife was not factory sharp but very very sharp. I honed it three more time and it slices great. The sharpener did very well but you have to pull the knives through slowly with very light pressure.

Works good for the $$$ so far, admittedly only have had it a week, but sharpened my ceramic & stainless knives nicely.
*Just don't bear down hard when sharpening knives, maybe that's why some complain that it failed? Idk, besides it doesn't need hard pressure too sharpen knives.
Had it awhile now, and it stutters when sharpening, so it skips places on the knife I'm sharpening.Needs a bit more strength to the motor I think. It will work eventually, but be very light on downpressure while using.
