A Great Compact Charge Controller

This compact charge controller is great for mounting on battery boxes or other places where space is limited. The recessed screw terminal connections makes it easy to connect other devices securely. I made simple wire connections to it using a 6 inch length of 12 gauge wire and Anderson PowerPole connectors. The plain wire ends connect easily to the recessed screw terminals and the Anderson PowerPole connectors simply hang out as a pigtails. The same could also be done with MC4 solar connectors as well. Please note that this controller is NOT intended for wet or outdoor locations. It has mounting holes though I secured mine with "industrial" velcro to my battery box.

I haven't run it through all the motions yet, but it seems to do everything it's supposed to. Controls feel a little clunky, like when you're setting the time on old alarm clock and have to toggle through different functions. I guess once you have it up and running, you wouldn't need to touch the controls very often, and having only three interface buttons means it's more rugged, so that's a plus.
