Hit or Miss, still works, just not well

It initially fixed the issue I was having. My sound bar covered my TV sensor so I used this to get around it. It worked fairly good for the first several weeks but now It only transmits one out of every 5 or so signals I send. It's getting very annoying, especially when trying to change the volume or flip through shows. To make things worse, the receiving sensor blinks every time I send a signal, showing that it was received, but nothing happens. The sending sensor is taped just below the TV sensor, so there is no obstruction. I've been testing it for a few days and I am certain it's this extender.

The range on this thing isn't that great. Works fine when remote is within 10-12 feet ...

The range on this thing isn't that great. Works fine when remote is within 10-12 feet but anything further back the receiver has a hard time registering the inputs. Now I have to get a replacement and run the cables threw all over again.
