Handy but pricey.

While it seems that most roofers are able to make their own corner pieces by bending and hammering flat sheet metal squares, I was intrigued when I saw these ready-made corners being used on a U-tube video by a pro doing flashing around a chimney. While too pricey, they are very convenient for roofing amateurs like myself who have no experience shaping sheet metal. By the way, I did look for these in the little flashing material sections of my local Home Depot and Lowe's. Not only did they not carry the item, but the store clerks had no clue whatsoever about corner flashing. Didn't even know that these items exist.

Worked good. I think I may have the chimney finally fixed. Wish they were longer and wider, but it did work to get around the chimney corner without any pinhole leak at the very corner.

Not only does this shingle make flashing around corners easier, but it also is a better solution because it prevents leaks! All around it's a good product. Despite them being a little pricey on Amazon, they are sold at some Menards and Home Depot. SEARCH FOR 'Flashrite corner shingle' online.

Just finished flashing two chimneys that have leaked for years. Today for the first time after a long, hard rain I have no leaks. They do seem a little small compared to standard step flashing, but if carefully applied they really do the job. These cornerflex flashings are malleable and can be pressed to fit about anywhere.
