Because we cannot get Shirriff in America, unless we come across it accidentally, and sometimes Amazon has it, we are stuck with Dr Oetker, which is a lesser version of the original. The number one thing missing are the tiny little balls of lemon flavoring that explode while you're heating the filling, and that makes all the difference in the world. The original is in Canada and I actually have relatives that ship it to me from Maine! Now I have found the original on Amazon and can make my lemon meringue pie, the proper way, and the only way I have ever made it in my life. No other brand will do.
