Bought this for my elderly father who can't have an operation to fix his hernia right now. His hernia is in the lower right area of his abdomen and this belt is so bulky that his pants barely fit. It must be about 3/4" thick and it doesn't stay in place that well. The elastic band/belt that is supposed to hold it in place in the back/buttock area is stiff but curls and chaffs his skin. Poor guy, if having a hernia isn't enough discomfort, this belt is an additional irritation.

I really, really want to give this belt a higher rating. It is truly the most comfortable belt I have tried (and I have tried them all). First, it fits well and snug, but it is still soft.
I have others, like the Lumiscope 549L which fits well but is a bit uncomfortable around the testicles because it is a full underwear type contraption. I also have the Meditex Uriel which is by far the most well made (and most expensive) but not as comfortable as it is made from higher grade elastic and velcro.
If you purchase this Wonder Care, I think you'll find that it is comfortable, but its important to hand wash only, my first one fell apart after only ONE machine wash.

You would think this would be uncomfortable but it really isnt.
Relax fella's, its not going to grab the boys and choke them. In fact, you will forget your wearing it after a few days. Initially, I was hesitant as to whether or not this would prevent my hernia from slipping out on me but it does exactly that. I did take the advice of another review and put it on, got it comfortable and marked where the straps were comfortable at the rear and then stitched the bottom of the loop to the waist band to prevent it from moving and putting it on is a lot easier now.
The only downfalls for this device is that the velcro is sewn in wrong. The hook side faces you and is approx 3/8" wider than the loop side. At times, you may feel the hooks scratching your skin as you move but a quick adjustment of the underwear and belt alleives that.
The other issue Ive had is the pads that can be removed for laundering or if not needed. Once you take them out, its not always very clear as to how they go back in. That could just be me but Id immediately mark them with "Left/right" "top" and "inside/outside" or you could just mark one as "left/right" as it sits in the pocket so you know where it goes.

In all fairness, it's probably worth the extra star, and before I'm done writing the review I'll probably give it one. It's really a very well-thought-out device, and there's no part of it that doesn't contribute to being worn comfortably, however, it really doesn't do much of anything for my hernia. Nor, unfortunately, has any other belt I've purchased. I knew the doctor said that I had a particularly severe problem, and the harness I'm wearing could probably be rearranged a bit and double as a parachute harness. So, while I can't testify to its effectiveness, I can honestly say that it is easy to adjust, the design gives the wearer a lot of flexibility, and it might even be considered attractive, considering its intended purpose.
