I used this as my bed for a while. I wanted a low-maintenance bed that was hugely expensive. This was amazing as a bed because it was firm and easy to set up, move, and clean. Putting a fitted sheet on was like putting a glove on, and I could have it in any room or spot I wanted; it was incredible. Now I have a regular bed, I use this one for travel which I love.

In lieu of spending big bucks to replace our worn out old mattress/boxspring/bed frame, we decided to ditch a traditional bed altogether and go with a simple floor mattress instead. We don't have furry pets, wear shoes indoors and vacuum several times a week, so a floor bed makes sense. It only had a very mild "new" odor that quickly dissipated, unlike many new items that reek of chemicals for weeks. It is very firm and comfortable to sleep on this. I have not had any of the neck or upper back pain I was starting to develop from our old bed after a few weeks of sleeping on this instead. It also doesn't squeak, creak or bounce every time I or my husband moves the tiniest bit on it like our old bed did. As someone who always makes our bed in the morning, folding it up frees up so much room during the day in our tiny bedroom Just fold up the mat and blankets then stack everything up on top. Doesn't protrude farther into the room than our night stands do. Being so lightweight makes it easy to move to vacuum. And even though they are made for a deeper mattress and are a tad loose on the edges, our old standard queen fitted sheets work fine on this and do not slide off, so even more money saved on buying new bedding when we really didn't need it. Not a fancy looking bed but very practical, comfortable and affordable. Will also not be a major PITA to move when we sell this place in a year or 2. Satisfied with the purchase.

First impression review:
The first thing to know is that this is a very dense/firm style tri-fold. It might be a bit too firm for a lot of people to sleep directly on. If you're looking for something to put underneath a padded style shikibuton its perfect. Its the right density to make side sleeping really comfy, without compromising the back sleeping comfort shikibutons have. Unlike many tri-folds, it is dense and structured enough to use as a chair during the day, without deforming.
Expanded instantly when I opened it & no excessive chemical smell.
The cover seems higher quality than other tri-folds I've had. My only complaint is that the safety tag is tricky to remove the way its sewn in -- be careful!
As long as you're aware this is not the conventional squishy foam style of tri-fold, I recommend it. If you sleep on a shikibuton this trifold is perfect.

Dimensions for the queen mattress we received are 59" by 80", after full expansion.

Our mattress seems more firm than the advertised "medium", but that is a plus.

The materials used seem of reasonably good quality.

Our mattress's three panels are differently sized, +/- 1/2".

The chemical smell many reviewers complain about is unpleasant, but it dissipates after a few days.

I originally gave this product three stars because of the misleading advertised dimension and questionable workmanship, but the comfort is such that we can overlook it.
