I had a Cobra for about 2 years before it went to sh*t, then bought a Galaxy which I was really excited about until receiving it dead out of the box. Out of disparate measures I bought a Uniden only to have it crap out in a few months. But I tell you this President is AWESOME, not only can I hear long distance transmissions (10 miles +) but they can also hear me. Self calibration of SWR is so fricken cool, love Roger beep, display color options, and weather alert overrides. Hands down best CB I've ever owned!

Bought this after intense online research. I use it primarily for NOAA weather as I drive to/from work. I mic checked it once and I was told I was loud and clear about 2 miles away from someone. Its barefoot with a 5' whip. Lots of features and has a newer look than the 70s chrome. There are so many features and I have to keep the directions handy and review from time to time. Most buttons have more than one function when pressed with another button.

Good clean little stick radio almost will fit in your pocket
All many driven some settings you have to key up, hit a pad then twist the channel dial. It takes a bit to get used to I recommend putting a PALOMAR SL41 microphone on it that Amazon also sells to pump this audio up.

I just purchased another 2 president mckinley's from mindconnection LLC... which makes a total of 4. They work awesome right out of the box..
You'll have to read the manual to learn all the features, But once you tinker with all the features and get familiar with the radio you'll be happy as I am with my president mckinley 40 SSB Radio.
