This is some serious heat tape!

So far, so good! Super heavy duty heat tape. Not the easiest to install because it is so thick and stiff. I recommend installing on a warm day or maybe leave it laying out in the sun for a while before installation. You could also plug it in for a bit to warm it up. I replaced some old Frost King heat tape that was easily 10+ years old. This HeatTapePro seem MUCH tougher and I hope it will last even longer and work much better. We've had a couple storms (16 inches of snow) and it seemed to do pretty well. I'm happy.

On our 4th snow storm of the season, and the heat tape is working as it should. Exactly 1 year ago today, we had water damage in one bathroom and one bedroom which was caused by ice dams. This heat tape is not cheap, but it's way cheaper than a complete bathrrom remodel after gutting it to the studs and replacing drywall, carpet, pad, and paint in the adjacent bedroom like I did last year.

BEWARE! HEAT TAPE DOES NOT WORK! Heat tape was totally ineffective. Tape produced very small amount of warmth. Almost indetectable. Wrapped insulation around the pipes and tape but pipes froze! Plug lights up when plugged into electric socket. Tape material is heavy duty but that is irelevant if it does not produces any heat.
