Had tried the French Market decaf with chicory but like a darker roast

Had tried the French Market decaf with chicory but like a darker roast. Tried this and mix my own now using Peet's French Roast. Chicory adds another dimension of flavor.
Iron-rich

After drinking this for a while, I've come to like it better than coffee. I drink a pot of it every morning, black. Great flavor. What I like most--compared to coffee, which I've heard can prevent iron absorption, chicory root supplies a little iron and some other minerals. I just wish this were sourced closer to home rather than from India, since I know that it grows well in the US.
However I think chicory must just be terrible. Granted

I have every faith that this is quality Roasted Chicory. It came in a timely manner, and seemed fresh.
However I think chicory must just be terrible.
Granted, I thought I could make a brew of 100% chicory as a replacement for coffee.
Oh no. It was terrible served that way.
I'm sure it has many other uses, but I did not try anything except straight chicory tea.
Blech.

I use chickory root by replacing one measure of coffee with one measure of chickory when making a pot of coffee. It takes out some of the bitterness of coffee, and makes it more mellow. And this chickory is just wonderful! I'll be back for more, definitely!!
After some research it stated that his root is a great alternative and it sure is

I needed to do a cleanse which required being caffeine free. After some research it stated that his root is a great alternative and it sure is. I brew it in the morning and mix it with protein powder. So delicious. The color and consistency is just like coffee. And it has a great unique taste of sweet and bitter ! I'm shocked this is not advertised more or spoken about.
