In doing A/R work for bands, I need to know that the gear they are working with actually works. Several bands now have these, and I recently tested both a Taylor acoustic and a Jackson 7 string through them, and it's a joy to not have a cable in the way. Acoustic tones as well as metal tones sounded great. It won't hurt to have an EQ pedal or device of some type to mold your tone, but that's true with many setups. For those wanting a cable free experience, these are hard to beat. Easy to use, will fit in a guitar case, and now an essential part of the rig.
no better or worse than other wireless units I have used ...

The jury is still out on this. The unit works, no better or worse than other wireless units I have used (and I have tried many!) The range is actually shorter than most of them.
My main concern is it occasionally cuts out, like the connection at the guitar is just not as secure as it should be. It's a function of the jack, and it might be that the unit is a little bit too heavy to be positioned vertically in a jack. If your jack is on the front surface of the guitar, you might not have this problem.
It's enough of a problem that I don't gig live with this unit, which is disappointing.

Good product but could use some improvements.

I've now gigged with these for a dozen times or so and felt it was time to write a review. First off, they arrived in a well thought out, packaged, box. And so far have performed flawlessly. They pair easily and the sound quality is very acceptable. Charging is easy and the battery life hasn't let me down yet. The reason for only 3 stars is that the build quality has me worried that they're going to stop working in the middle of a gig. The plastic coverings feel cheap, i feel like I'm going to break it unplugging it from my Strat. Also you have to be careful not to hit the frequency selector button, otherwise you had better have a back up cable to change out real quick or your instrument is dead in the water until you figure out how many led blinks each one has. Overall, it's a good purchase for the price but it could use some design and build quality improvements.
Seems to work great except.....

Seems to work great...except.... It doesn't fit well on my favorite guitar which is an Ibanez S 520. The hole to the output jack on that guitar is rather narrow. Not a problem for the cord but plugging one of these in is a tight fit and rubs on the guitar. I almost need some kind of super short jack extender to make it work well. So I wish the fitting on the transmitter was a little more svelte. It fits fine on all my other guitars. Sound seems very true and I can't discern any delay. In fact a few other guitarist have expressed interest after seeing me use these guys.
Xvive U2 Wireless Guitar - Great Product!

Ok, so I originally purchased the Xvive U2 and was really disappointed as noted in my first review below. However, I was truly amazed when the manufacture contacted me directly within a day of posting my review. Turns out these folks are relentless about their product. I believe they were more bummed than me. So without hesitation they sent me a new unit to try. Turns out the original unit I received was defective. As soon as I plugged in the replacement unit, I was ecstatic. The tone was remarkable. I couldn't notice a difference between the wireless and wired. I went back and forth between wireless and wired to make sure I wasn't just hearing what I wanted to. Anyway, I received the unit on Friday and gigged the weekend. Wow! I never had a wireless unit before and simply had one of the best gigs ever. The freedom to move about and even join the crowd on the dance floor. Freaking awesome! With that said, I'm giving this unit a Five (5) star review and would definitely recommend the product. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the service; these people stand behind their product. Thanks Xvive!

I had been wanting a wireless system for a long time, however never took the leap until recently. I had read multiple reviews of wireless systems and ultimately settled on the Xvive U2.
The positive... Sight to sight signal was exceptional, battery life very good.
The negative... The tome of the guitar was altered. There was a high frequency resonance added which made the guitar tone very nasally. I used a Fender Strat and a Carvin SC 90S through a Line 6 Flextone II XL and Fender Champion 100. Regardless of the combination the sound was compromised. To be fair, I made multiple comparisons going back and forth between the Xvive and using a cable. Every time, the same result; nasally tone. It's unfortunate since I like the discreet profile of the unit.
Ultimately I ended up returning it after two weeks.
For the players that have had good success; that's great, however I'm unable to recommend this product.
