I had one of the first kinetic remote light kits with the fake toggle switch. They were expensive back then, but there were not many options before all of the smart switches and Alexa enabled outlets that we have today. It lasted me several years but recently started taking several tries with the wall switch to get it to turn on or off. This GE kit is a fraction of the cost and is much nicer to use, can pull the switch from the plate to use as a separate remote, sits much more flush to the fall to mimic a real electrified switch, and was easy to install. I hope it holds up under heavy use. I would recommend this kit based on my initial impressions.
Very clever lighting solution.

I purchased two sets for the guest bedroom. I have three lights and paired the outlets to work with both switches (with the use of an extension cord). Added one switch to the light(fan) switch at the entrance of the room with a dual cover then added the second switch at the bedside. This way you can have plenty of light and have the ability to turn the lights off after you get into bed! Niiice!

I would love to do this to the second guest bedroom downstairs but a tad worried that they might control the other bedrooms lights since the one room is literally over the other.
I bought two of these and they help light up my whole garage areas that I need.

This is an incredible product. I bought two to replace an old remote switch that was breaking at the toggle switch to turn on and off. Well this worked easy to replace my old switch and I was able to get two of these and I have one for the overhead lights and another one for my workbench. These look professional and good in my garage. I can't ask anything more from this wireless remote switch. I was glad to see I could get two for the garage and have them work independently where most switches wouldn't work that way without turning on both remotes at the same time and I did not want to turn on both the overhead and workbench lights at the same time. Would I buy this wireless remote again "YES"
Tried two of these items and both were DOA.

I tried two successive attempts to get this item and use it. Both attempts were DOA. The second one worked one time to turn the light on and dim it, but then it quit and would not work again. I called the help number for the item and they told me to return it for a replacement and let them know if it has the same problem. I decided to just return it for a refund because I was tired of fooling with it.
Works well, can't read buttons, awful customer service

I bought two for various fans around the house. After two weeks, they have worked without hassle. The only downsides are that you cannot read the buttons' markings (no contrast: white on white), and Jasco, the distributor for GE, has not replied to my query about the optional cradle for the remote. I do not reward poor customer service with five-star reviews, so you are warned: do not expect any help from them.

On the Good News front, the remote does not really need a cradle; it comes in several pieces that you assemble to make it a wall-mount, and you can simply not assemble it (or, if it comes assembled, disassemble it). Both of mine look like the attached picture.
