Purchased similar item at Lowes for $35 (on sale) -- found these online for $8 -- so we ordered these and took Lowes back. I had purchased three at Lowes - so for much less money --- we got 8 light fixtures instead of 3. Great price. Very thin --- needed a very thin light that the door would clear and not hit -- this worked great. Very bright - easy to install. Clean modern looking. We installed them in a mobile home remodel to look like "can" lights. Negatives: even though they are LED lights - the back gets very hot. Hope it won't be a fire hazzard. Lowes light was the same (hot on the back - or the side that is against the ceiling. SECOND negative: when the lights go bad --- there is no replacing the light bulbs --- you will have to replace the entire fixture --- unknown how long they will last. Overall --- happy with price and product. They fit in an existing light box --- just two screws to hold the fixture --- and the wire nuts to tie the wires together --- very simple installation. Bright modern. Would recommend currently --- but we don't live at the home remodeled so unknown length of time they will last --- but they look good now.

Awesome value, with a high-end look! I installed over 60 of these lights in my new construction home. Much more efficient than cans, and saved thousands of dollars by installing simple cheap gasketed lighting boxes instead of can fixtures. I installed the 2700k warm white in the house, with a 12 pack of 4000k bright white in my 3-car garage which lit it nicely. Definitely happy with the result. Yes, the light is a bit concentrated in the center if staring at it, but who cares, and who stares right into a bright light when its on? They look clean when turned off, and it spreads light very nicely from my 9ft ceilings.

I have old in ceiling 6" canned lights in my townhouse. I needed something to retrofit this type of lighting to modernize and convert to LED. I found this product while searching on Amazon. I ordered one light to try out. I had a little trouble figuring it out at first. I needed to attach the retaining springs and it was not real clear in the tiny print instructions where they attached. After studying the fixture for a while I noticed the attachment holes were covered with a tape. The tape did have a label that said "hole under here". Also, the instructions show connecting the socket adapter to the light fixture with included connectors. Unfortunately, it was two female connectors, so impossible to use these. Fortunately I had wire nuts on hand to connect these parts. After figuring it all out I installed the light fixture, looks great and is very bright. I have now ordered 5 more to finish my conversion. I'm not sure if it was a fluke that the one fixture had two female connectors, guess I'l find out on the next order. I have wire nuts on hand just in case.

A great option if you don't want to install an entirely new recessed light and housing.
I used 5 of these to replace contractor dome lights in my hall and laundry room. Took about 5 minutes total per light to remove a dome light, connect the new light, and affix this light on a standard 3" circular junction box. Well made with a series of holes to fit various junction box sizes.
Looks like a standard recessed light at a fraction of a recessed light cost, and way easier to install.
Very bright, good light tones (3000K was warm, the 4000K was brighter/truer color). I'd recommend a dimmer switch if it's for a living area versus a utility/hallway area.
Excellent product, already recommending this to a couple of coworkers who are doing some remodeling.

We were planning to install recessed can lights. The handyman cut holes before measuring and hit roof trusses that would prevent us from installing the recessed cans. These really flat LED fixtures saved us from patching holes and retexturing the ceiling. You need flat pancake boxes that pretty much have the thickness of the drywall. Then these led mount on top. They look almost identical to can lights. Ideal for situations where you simply dont have the space and access to put cans in. The nice thing is that they come with the light socket screw in adapter and the spring loaded arms so that you can use them as a remodel for the old incandescent cans. In our case that was good so we could fit the existing fixtures in the adjacent room with the same LED lights. It looks now coherent and no one knows that we had a mistake happen. I am glad I found them. I will use the rest of the ones we had not used in my living room to add some light. I would order them again in a heartbeat and will do so. One side note. They are daylight color so the light appears cooler than the warm light units that I typically use. But that is truly a matter of personal preferences.
