I bought these hats when I read in another review that a woman and her toddler son were able to wear them. I got the green ones and my daughter and I look super cute in them like Troop Beverly Hills cute. It was then that my husband came home and decided to take mine to work with him as he was going to be outside a lot that day. So now I'm considering ordering two more just so everyone has one. We're total dorks now but we're happy dorks.

Looking forward to wearing our hats this summer. Seems a little stiff so hoping they just need a break in period. It fits both my 4 year old and me. Chins strap works great and help hold it on for my son. This is the gray color.

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of these hats. Several years ago I paid about $50 for a canoe hat. I bought that hat because it floats and was great for any type of lake activity as well as soccer games, gardening or whatever. It has vents. My point is....these hats are EXACTLY like the hat I bought all those years ago, except that these are very inexpensive! 5 of our family are taking a canoe trip to the BWCA and I'm putting together gift bags for the trip. I thought I'd try these to see if there was any hope. They are actually nicer than my canoe hat! These have snaps you can snap the side up if you want to and more ventilation, plus they fit the head better and the brim is slightly wider. I'll be ordering another set of these for sure. I'll be a little jealous that everyone else will get these hats while I'll have my expensive canoe hat. As far as fit - they will fit a wide variety because you can adjust the fit a bit. My husband has a big head and they fit him. I have a small head and they fit me. So there is definitely some flexibility in the sizing. I purchased size large and plan to do the same with the next order because 2 of the guys have bigger heads and the girl has long hair. Incidentally, all of the items I've purchased from The Friendly Swede have exceeded my expectations.
lightweight and breathable

I ended up completely enjoying this hat. I have the same general style hats from the Army and from my hunting but those are made of thicker material and are not breathable. This turned out just perfect for long through hikes. Very breathable, tough enough to hold up to daily use and sun, lightweight, and light in color so the sun is not frying it. Easy to cram into my shorts pocket when I was not wearing it, and then just pull it out and no problems returning to shape for head wear.

The hat is great. It's light weight, fits larger sized heads, and seems to be well made. However, the Friendly Swede ships the hats folded up in the packaging. This leaves a sharp crease in the brim that makes the hat look silly to wear in public.
The Friendly Swede was very responsive to my questions about how to take the crease out. They suggested washing the hats and letting them dry flat. Unfortunately, the crease is smaller but still visible. One is not that bad but the other one has fatigue in the fabric from the bend that no amount of washing will make go away.
If they every fix the method of shipping, the hat would get 5 stars.
