Great Beds but Wish They Were More Reasonably Priced

I've had a few Big Barker beds and they are all great. Their quality and costumer support are unquestioned. All of their beds are relatively expensive, however, in my opinion, these SUV beds are particularly overpriced. A 24" wide bed for 180 dollars just seems excessive. Big Barker has a particular competitor that manufactures VERY similar products, of equal quality, at more affordable prices. However, that competitor, surprisingly does not making their own version of this SUV bed. That being said, because Big Barker seems to be the only company on the market that makes beds like these, I do not regret my purchase... despite the fact that it is a little embarrassing to have paid so much to fill the back of my 2017 Mazda CX-5. I have two Great Danes and wanted bedding that would fully cover the back of my CX-5, and a small and a medium do the trick nicely. Other reviews have state that there are many lower priced alternatives, but none point to those alternatives. I have been unable to find any other worthy, quality competitors in this form factor, so I do not regret the purchase.

We have an Xterra that we bought for carting ourselves around as well as our dogs (2 Alaskan Malamutes). We love the fold down flat nature of the back and the rubberized surface for easy cleaning. However, it's slippery and it's a little hard for them when traveling distance. So, I started searching for a cushion for the back that would support two dogs who are each over 100 pounds and wouldn't slip and slide on corners. I found it in the Big Barker. It's great. It can go in the back two ways - horizontally with bolsters on the side in the cargo area with back seats up or rotated to lay flat lengthwise with the back seats folded down. The dogs love it - no more scrabbling around as we drive. They get in, flop down, and enjoy their ride. I especially like that I can turn it horizontally with seats up so that I don't have to take it out and try to store it when I'm not running dogs around - it is bulky and does not fold up easily. But, I wasn't expecting that as I prefer being able to have it in the back of the truck at all times. Well worth the cost, easy to surface clean, and 2 paws up from the dogs.

I have a Subaru Forester and two huge Bernese Mt Dogs, we travel a lot to camp. My girl almost 9yrs needed support and comfort. This fits perfect & they both look at me like why would we want to get out we are comfortable. Plus it helps her stability as she feels more in control around turns. This was the best investment. I was worried as it's not something I can really afford, but I am so glad I bought it for them ( early Christmas & BD) I might be sleeping on it with then at one night camp areas instead of setting up the tent. 😂 Love this bed. Also bought protection cover for after those rainy or muddy hikes.

I purchased a Medium Big Barker for my 2005 RAV4 to give my Siberian Husky the riding throne she deserves. Shipping was very quick, and the bed arrived promptly. The wrapping was thorough, but easy to unwrap (even had instructions on where to start pulling the plastic. It does take a bit for the bed to "inflate" back to it's original size, so don't be discouraged by how thin it looks.
Tossed it in the back (I don't have back seats in my RAV for optimum dog room) and it easily fits to the middle length of the back of the RAV, with the puffy side seats leaning up against the doors, which is PERFECT.
Very impressed with the bed, the company, and Casey approves of the comfort.
