Terrible clip

Others have said it and I'll reiterate, that clip is terrible. It pushes the tip right up against the side of the pot/pan (tried on many pots with various lips)...you'll never get a good reading if you're touching the side/bottom of the pot. I will have to modify.
The red marker you can move around is nice, as is the length of the thermometer.
I found it to only be 5deg off of boiling water when I tested its temp. You can adjust w/ the nut on the back just like most analog thermometers.

The Clamp Doesn't Work Well

When the thermometer touches the inside of the container of cooking oil, the accuracy of the temperature of the oil is compromised. The clamp did not hold the thermometer away from the side of the dutch oven pot that I use to fry doughnuts. So I was able to modify it by inserting 2 wooden shim pieces under the outside of the clamp to hold the thermometer away from the inside of the cooking pot. The thermometer was easy to calibrate using boiling water and it measures temperature accurately.
