Works for Homemade Jello
Mrs. B✓ Verified PurchaseMay 1, 2017
Works well as a thickening agent in juice for homemade jello. I thought this was the best priced option out there for organic grass-fed beef but after purchasing this, I stumbled across Trim Healthy Mama Gelatin that is also organic and grass-fed from Swanson Vitamins for a cheaper price. I've also stirred it into my juice in the morning for a quick shot of protein but it stays clumpy and gritty. Get the other kind that dissolves in cold water for your drink.
May have helped my elbow

So this is one of the only animal products I use in my diet and I started with it because I heard gelatin and collagen can really help with joints. I hurt my elbow over a period of a few months practicing martial arts and digging post holes in rocky/clay soil. Ouch. After a couple weeks of using this, my elbow doesn't hurt anymore, but I cannot attribute this only to the gelatin. I have also been taking it very easily physically, taking high doses of turmeric and vitamin C from rose hip tea and using a copper fabric elbow sleeve. The vitamin C is very important for collagen formation in the body and I didn't realize this, but caffeine destroys vitamin C in your body. I genuinely feel that my coffee use is a large part of why my elbow gave out. Now I don't use caffeine anymore which was hard, but it is making a difference.

This product only has a mild taste. If you put it in a complex smoothie it can be well disguised, but I don't mind the flavor. It will dissolve very well in hot liquids, but not cold. Often times I just add it to some miso soup. I made a sugar-free stevia jello once just for fun. It's easy and the instructions are on the back of the package but you don't need to go to that trouble to benefit from this product. I tried to make sugar-free marshmallows and failed miserably. I ended up with a block of what what like really concentrated jello. It felt like I was eating cartilage haha! I hope to wean myself off of this stuff and just rely on the vitamin C and clean diet for joint health but we will see. It's only been 2 or 3 weeks and I haven't yet noticed anything with my hair or skin as some people say. I wouldn't mind that but it's not why I'm taking it. If it can help the structure of my body, that's good enough for me.
Not what I was hoping for.

Didn't gel properly.
I've been using regular store brand gelatin to make homemade gummies for a few months now.
I bought this because it seemed healthier and more eco friendly.
Even when I used extra gelatin and made sure to whisk extra well, my gummies fell apart coming out of the molds. This never happens with the store brand gelatin.
The company did refund my money however, and said if the package had been exposed to heat that could effect the gelling capabilities.
Good gelatin

I got this to put into broth for a nightcap and to add protein to improve digestion and health. I wanted organic and this is. I usually have it in chicken broth and tho it is beef gelatin, there is very little beef taste and the broth is pleasant. It dissolves pretty well. I'll probably get it again but it is going to take me a while to get thru the bag.
Relieved some joint pain. Nice quality product.

I started using this about 2 weeks ago for my old thin brittle fingernails. Too soon to notice a big improvement, yet. I am writing the review today because I like the product. It dissolves well and the flavor is fine; almost flavorless. It's easy to use. Best of all - my joint pain is significantly relieved! I've suffered from joint pain for 20+ due to overuse and age. I think the gelatin is helping. I did a bit of research on the internet, and find that it is occasionally recommended for this purpose. Check it out! I've already ordered another bag, and my husband is trying it too.
