The first time we made ice cream with this mix, we used water as directed on the package. However, after watching other videos and reading through others' recipes we decided to try milk and heavy whipping cream. We decided we liked using milk the best; with a very creamy and rich tasting result! Our family prefers vanilla, so that is the only flavor I can speak about.

This is no dairy queen taste too bad. I am a chocolate ice cream eater.. but I prefer the vanilla over the chocolate in this brand. I have a soft, serve machine. So this makes a big batch of ice cream so I had to do the math 2 quarts of water to 1 pound mix. Does it take long to mix? Let it sit 10 minutes important machine 30 minutes later you got ice cream and it tastes good but no Dairy Queen flavor.

42.56 ounces water to 16 ounces powder.Or smalller 21.28 ounces water to 8 ounces powder.if you want soft serve use water. more like ice cream go with lactose free whole milk. The water recipe gives you the better soft serve taste.
