... the quality of the plastic and metal handles seem good. Especially for the price
Cons✓ Verified PurchaseMarch 8, 2017
I haven't been on the court with it yet but the quality of the plastic and metal handles seem good. Especially for the price, I think the quality is fine. The directions aren't very good but it is easy enough to wing it. There are eight screws for the corners to hold the sides together. Two of the eight screws didn't stay in. It feels like it's because the hold part is stripped. The screws wouldn't hold. We found some longer screws that seem to work. Hopefully they'll hold.
Nice Hopper

Just received it today. Put it together in less than half an hour. The instructions are not very clear and I don't know what they are talking about by push pins. I put it together without the use of a hammer although the instructions said I would need it. All I needed was a screwdriver and common sense. The sides were slightly bent but I put it together just fine. It will probably hold more like 70 tennis balls not 80. Some of the features are nice such as underneath the rods turn while picking up a tennis ball instead of simply forcing it through two solid rods. While not as durable as some metal hoppers, it is good for any tennis player looking to improve their game.
very effective ball hopper

This ball hopper works great! The legs/handles are sturdy and don't fall off. It picks up the tennis balls easily. I'm not sure it would hold 80 balls, I have 30 in it and it's half way full but I don't have 80 balls to test it with. It worked so well we bought another one, one for my side of the court and one for my husband's!
Decent product & works as expected

Reason for the buy, bought it to practice serves and feed balls to my daughter while practicing.
Pros:
Easy to assemble, even though there is little instructions, its pretty easy to figure out and fix it right the first time. Overall it took about 10 mins.
Works as expected and pick up the balls easily even when its almost full.
Not very heavy, so my 4 year old can carry and collect the balls on her own.
Kudos on the design part to have lid bars to stop the balls from popping out when placed flat (in the car trunk).
we can also attach caster wheels which is available in stores like HFT.

Cons:
It can hold only about 60 balls (not 80), anything more than that will pop the ball out.
Made of plastic, not sure how long its gonna last.
80 ball Tourna Ballport vs. Gamma Wire
bdad08✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 22, 2015
My son's instructor has the 80 ball Gamma wire version so I purchased the Tourna version for comparison and have been using it through the 2015 summer with Penn pressurized tennis balls (48 pack).

During the 1st month or so, I noticed black marks on the tennis balls that look like it was grease from the collector bars at the bottom, probably from the heat of the court during ball pick-up. The grease is a clear'ish so the dark color might have been from dirt on the court and the color either faded over time or wore off; not a big greasy mess, just something to be aware of and not panic.

I do like that the collector bars can be moved, especially on the top, so I can easily retrieve without henderance and move them back towards the center when transporting the holder in my truck so nothing falls out. The instructor's wire model had fallen over at least a couple of times because the legs don't "lock" in place or the legs have loose fittings or have come out of the hinge. I haven't had the Tourna fall over yet even with winds ~10mph. I also see the instructor use bungee cords to secure the wire cage his SUV to keep his Gamma unit from falling over to avoid spillage.

What I like more about the wire version is balls seem easier to collect through the metal bar collectors than on the Tourna, especially when you collect more than 48 balls. At approximately the 72 count the Tourna starts getting harder to push them through the bars and some don't completely fit in the unit. I look back to pick up ones that fell out. Speaking of amount collected, I recently increased my count to 76 (pressurized and non) and am overflowing. Balls are pretty compacted at this point and have collector bar indents, which disappears after a short time. This is when you will really notice the interior plastic molding stopping balls from moving freely as others have mentioned... not a big deal if you use less than 70 or so.

Overall, I would recommend this model.
