Water pattern disks are brittle and don't fit and will break if put on. Main tube is too loose for the pump connection.
emannepNovember 15, 2017
As some other reviewers here have said, the different fountain disks don't fit and crack if forced on. I can't try any of them out as the only one I tried to seriously put on snapped in half. I have no idea how anyone successfully got them on.

Also the main tube that connects to the disks from the pump and goes through the light ring is way too loose and keeps falling off. Bad quality control!

This is day 2 of leaving the switch in the "on" position. It was working for an hour this morning but now went off. Hopefully, after a few more days charging it will stay on. With no disks, it really isn't serving its purpose as it just makes a little mound of water with no sound or aeration.

Did I just get a bad one?

I have had no problems with this solar panel and pump it must be charged in the Sun for a half an hour prior to it working . The power switch on the back of the solar panel must be on in order for it to work. The only thing I would recommend if you want it to last is to take a glue gun and go around the casing of the plastic housing behind the solar panel to prevent any moisture from getting inside not saying that it will but the way I looked at it it definitely will prevent moisture if you use a glue gun. There is one spot where the wire comes out that I would recommend putting glue around and that is coming out of the electronics box behind the solar panel other than that the unit works very very good.
Unit is working excellent, the main thing is it needs The sun to charge the Batterys. The batterys are 168530, they are the same batterys that arw used in the power wall . This is a very good Solar unit . Checking back in with Everybody, just wanted to add that everything is working perfect.Dont forget never to let your pump go dry, or it will go bad like any other pump made by anybody else. Great product
Nice start but dead within 24 h. - UPDATE: now working great! Hopefully it keeps it up!

Update: the unit is Working nicely again! There seems to be an issue with the switch on our unit.
Perhaps a loose connection. One I confirmed that the on switch was indeed on (lights were shining), we left it in the sun for a few days and the battery charged up and the pump is working nicely now. Lewisa provide guidance to help us address the problem. So I am happy wth their customer support! The only reason I'm not giving five stars now is that the switch does seem to be finicky on our unit. Will keep an eye on it, but so far the pump is working rest in our Fountain. I attached a video so you can see our set up and over all flow.

Now that the system is working. I plan to order the extension cables so we can put the panel somewhere less conspicuous.

The pump and panel were off to a good start. But now are not working. I switched the panel to 'on' and put it in the sun. The LEDs and pump turned on in just a few minutes. Within about 30 min the pump was outputting a good flow and doing a great job in our little fountain. While the pump was working, I then turned panel switch to 'off' to see what would happen. As expected the pump and LED went off. Then I turned the switch back 'on' but nothing happened. The LEDs and pump are now stuck off. The panel is sitting in direct sunlight still, and the switch is still 'on' but neither the pump or the LEDs are working. Checked back hours later...same problem. Perhaps a finicky switch? I flipped it off and on several times leaving it in the on position every time...still no dice. The thing is dead. I would love for this to work...but it's not!! I've had it for <24 h!!
Disappointed

After trying for two months to get this pump and solar panel to work, we have given up. The battery backup never worked and required sunlight to operate pump even though the battery had been charging in the "on" position for several days. The only way we could get the pump to start was to put the panel face down on the ground and the turn it face up to face the sun. The pump sounded like it was working and we could feel a little water pumping through without the hose attached, but it would never push water through the hose into my water feature. No blockages in the pump or hose. Going to try a different brand.
Right size and features for small garden fountain

This is what I was thinking of when I went searching for a solar powered fountain pump. Had an AC powered pump before but when we out in new landscaping I did not replace the AC power line near to where the pump is, This is the 3rd pump I purchased. The process was kind of like a combination of 2 story tales, The 3 little pigs and Goldilocks and the 3 bears. The first pump was too small and could not push the water up 2 feet through my hose. The second pump was very strong and really blasted the water, but is had no battery back up so when the sun was not shining on the panel it was as good as dead. This 3rd pump has an adequate flow and gives a good number of hours of flow after the sun is no longer shining on the panel. Plus you have the added LED light bar. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is that it came missing one of the little rubber feet, and I have only operated it for about 2 weeks...
