Torn between leaving a jagged, rusted step extension, or replacing with this No Step softie, I chose the less aggressive option 'cause I don't want to tear up the one behind me if I'm the one moving. Still, I miss the vengeful sting for those who like to tailgate.
It will be stepped on, and then it will break.

EDIT: if someone steps on it, it will break, and someone *will* step on it. When I first put it on, I used a yellow paint marker to highlight the "NOT A STEP" molded letters (as they do not stand out). A couple weeks later, loaned my cargo van to someone to move, and noticed when they returned it that the hitch hammer had deep cracks in it, almost completely through it. I presume someone stepped on, which is understandable, given the location, it really is begging to be a step. So, really, didn't work-out so well for me.

Seems good and beefy. Wish they skipped the yellow on their logo and instead made the "NOT A STEP" yellow so someone doesn't inadvertently break it off. Ideal would be something like this that did include a step--metal in the base, then rubber in the back. Got this after accidentally kissing the bumper of a (Porche) SUV behind me parking my extended-length cargo van. Figure this reduces the chances of accidental damage in the city, etc.
Updated review: EuroBumpeGuard's excellent customer service did completely resolve my damaged "Hitch Hammer" issue. 5 stars!

The "Hitch Hammer" end or tip is made of solid rubber, keeps damage to both cars at a minimum, big plus! However, a warning for purchasers to remove the Hitch Hammer before going through any automatic car wash. Such a warning notice should be included with this product. My "Hitch Hammer" rubber base that fits in the tow hitch was almost completely severed after I made a trip through an automatic car wash. This was not something that I expected to happen to such a solid product that doesn't protrude that much from my normal in length SUV tow hitch. Attempting to resolve this matter with manufacture now. So far no response to my e-mails via Amazon to manufacturer. In my opinion, the square post that fits in the vehicles tow hitch needs to be made of a solid metal or at least encased in a metal sleeve of some sort. In my opinion this would help prevent any rip away or tear like damage to the "HH" solid rubber post. Take a few mins. to remove your "HH" before you go through any car wash and be a completely happy "Hitch Hammer" owner that will give a 5 star review!
Exactly what I was looking for.

Really well made, perfect for NYC area where there is little regard for other's bumpers when parking. I think it will make people think twice--although they probably already do with a big vehicle. Looks good on my Jeep (See photo).
Solid Rubber!
Rilodile•December 1, 2017
For my $50, I got a solid and good looking rubber bumper. I was surprised at weight of the box it was delivered in! The furthest hole in--in the bumper--(and the best one for a solid installation) was about 1/4 inch off of the hole in my receiver hitch. However, I used a large drill bit and widened the rubber hole little by little until the hitch pin slid through with just the slightest resistance on the interior of the rubber. I misted everything with some WD-40, slid the Hitch Hammer all the way in, snugged the locking hitch pin (Connor) through it all, and locked it down. Hope I don't have to use it, but it looks good in the meantime! Recommended!
