Doesn’t work and faded colors

This was my last try at using "natural" non-toxin based laundry detergent/soap. I've tried so many brands I can't count them all, and NONE work well. Even the over-priced popular branded (YL) essential oil laundry detergent that their followers basically worship doesn't work for this household. After reading reviews on Molly's Suds I thought I'd finally found the golden ticket to my husbands work shirts coming out of the laundry smelling clean instead of still like sweat, his deodorant and whatever other smells he picked up that day. But nope. They still stink. It's bad if my husband himself can even notice his shirts don't smell like they've been washed. He's told me multiple times with multiple natural detergents that His "clean" clothes stink. I followed the directions on the bottle and even increased the amount but doesn't make any difference. His deodorant is a strong scent and apparently to strong for natural detergents to compete with. Molly's also faded my daughters hot pink swimsuit to a light baby pink color. I've washed it multiple times and never had any problems but the first load I washed it in using Molly's it came out faded. I'll add pictures to show proof next time she wears it. Apparently for many people Mollys is great but if my husbands shirts aren't getting clean than I know the rest of my laundry isn't either, so that grosses me out too. Unfortunately I'm going to have to turn back to mainstream detergent.
No skin reactions and my clothes are clean.

I have been trying to find a "natural" laundry product that doesn't leave me with itchy, red skin and actually cleans my clothes while also being somewhat cost effective. Molly's suds is the best one I have found so far. The last product I tried left my clothes dingy no matter how little or much I used, got to the point I was using twice what the directions was said was needed and clothes just not coming clean or looking clean. I always pre-treat stains and even with pre-treating while the stain is still "fresh" they were still there after wash cycle was complete. The only positive is, I did not have any negative skin reactions, it only hurt to look at my dingy clothing. +
Although I still pretreat as needed, with Molly's suds, the stains are gone when the wash cycle is done. I put the amount of scoops I need into the washer first, load my clothes and then we are off. My clothes are stain free, clean, bright and smell good. I have had no negative reaction to this product which is awesome and I am able to use the recommended amount with good results which means I will actually get the number loads they advertise. I will be reordering this.

My family settled on Molly's Suds after having numerous failures with DIY and commercial "natural" laundry powders and liquids. For over 5 years we mixed our own liquids and powders to no avail. The labor time was high, the savings were non-existent and the end results were abysmal. At best we achieved "meh" mediocre results and at worst my clothes down-right stank! We even ruined some of our clothes, towels and washable table napkins during this time with stains and some pervasive water repellent residue (I think from soap nuts). Imagine, cloth napkins and terry towels that do not absorb liquid at all but just push them around AND stink to boot! I was frustrated to say the least. Even my tween son thought our clothes stank! Tween boys are funky, yet even he could smell our clothes.
We found one other decent dry laundry product but the supply lines were hit and miss so we tried Molly's Suds on a whimsy, and now it's all we buy. Molly shows up packaged economically but very soundly. Molly is effective at cleaning clothes. Molly smells good too! To my knowledge we have never had an order go on back-order due to a shortage. In summary, Molly does her job well and does not break the bank. Check the label or the website for what is inside, that is not part of my review. Also, I was not compensated by any means for this review. This product just works and the company mission/operation reverberates well with the tough demands of our little homestead.
I hope you find this helpful and saves you a few years of wondering and wandering through the cornucopia of natural soaps as well as the imposters. Cheers to you for getting this far in your rebellion against synthetic chemicals and Long Live The Chemical Resistance!

How laundry detergent changed my life

I've always had sensitive skin, but it's been especially bad for the last three or so years. I had no idea what was causing it, I felt like I had tried everything. I concluded that it was probably something in my diet I was allergic to (I have a lot of food allergies I've developed as an adult).
The other night after I finished washing my face and grabbed my towel, it dawned on me--every place I normally dab my towel first--under my neck, behind my ears, shoulders--were all the places where my skin was pissed off. This WHOLE TIME it's been my laundry soap!!!
I did a little research and whoa, laundry detergent and dryer sheets are made out of such terrible crap, I had no idea! No wonder my skin was pissed!! I was rubbing flowery smelling flame retardant all over my body! Gross!!!
After doing a fair amount of research on alternative soaps, I found that Molly's had the best environmental rating, and because it specifically said it was for sensitive skin I decided to try this first.
I LOVE IT SO MUCH! I never thought I would get this excited about laundry detergent haha and now I finally understand what other reviewers meant by their clothes simply smelling "clean" because they totally do. Clean. It's amazing.
So it's only been a week since I stopped using dryer sheets, and only a few days since I've been using Molly's (I immediately washed my sheets, towels, and underwear), but my skin is almost completely clear. I'm amazed, and so so happy with this soap, I'd recommend it to anyone health or environmentally conscious and/or with sensitive skin. So awesome!!!!!

Mom's Seal of Approval

I bought this for my mother who has severe outbreaks of hives. She eliminated all food sources and then we got to the sacred laundry products she didn't want to give up. I replaced her dryer sheets with wool balls and her usual detergent with Molly's Suds and waited for the fallout... but she loves them all! Mom is super finicky about clean laundry and I was worried Molly's may not be able to meet her standards and she'd have to adjust them. Well, no adjusting needed. She says the clothes are coming out cleaner and brighter with Molly's! Plus it helped with her hives. That says everything I needed to know so I ordered Molly's for myself. I've always used "natural" brands of laundry detergent from the health food store but after doing more research, Molly's is obviously the cleanest product available. No detergents, just soap. **Note that Molly's Suds doesn't really suds up like you'd think.
Mom also loves the wool balls, she's made a game of finding all the balls after each load comes out of the dryer. This was the item least likely to succeed when she learned she couldn't use her trusty dryer sheets. But again, it's a winner!
Wool Dryer Balls - Pack of 6 - Natural Fabric Softener, Reusable, Reduce Wrinkles, Saves Drying Time. Anti Static Large Felted Wool Clothes Dryer Balls is a Better Alternative to Plastic Balls.
