I've had my eye on this axe for a while now. Mostly owning Swedish axes I really wanted to get a high end American made product. It has a clean straight grain handle that is unfinished. The blade is sharpened well you can easily differentiate the splitting and cutting edges. The axe comes with a high quality leather sheath that isn't a struggle to put on or remove. Also... Amazons price on this is hard to beat. I recommend anyone in the market for a larger sized hatchet/smaller axe to consider this axe.

This is a beautiful little axe, I love it, and it cuts like a much bigger axe. you could really do some damage with this. The price seems high, but remember, your getting twice the axe of a single blade, and twice as long between sharpening. there are days I wish the handle were about three inches longer and it had a lanyard, but it's still probably the finest small axe out there.

I like having a small, versatile axe that is easy to pack and carry. I have a cheap, small hatchet, but this is only the second small axes I have owned, and the first to have both splitting and cutting heads. The build quality and grind of this axe is very good, and it arrived very sharp and ready to use. My only complaint is that I can't get a good grip on the wooden handle while wearing gloves. Maybe I just need better gloves.
