I live in Southern California so this has been my life saver. The air cools right away, doesn't use a lot of energy, and takes up very little space. I really don't have any complaints about this except that I wish there was a dimming feature on the display. Easy fix though since the display panel dips in so I just toss something on top.

I got two of these when my two very old units went out. Both of my old ones just had settings from low to high and 1-10, so they ran all the time and weren't temperature sensitive.

I really like these because a) I can set a timer so if it's going to be a mild morning but get hot in the afternoon while I'm at work, I can set it to come on at noon.
b) I can set them to "energy efficient" mode where they are temperature sensitive and turn off when they hit the desired temperature, coming back on every 3 minutes to assess whether it needs to cool some more.
c) They tell you when the filter needs to be changed. I always forgot to do that on my old ones.

They also have a remote which seems handy, although I really didn't use it.

I have my two units upstairs in a 840 sq ft townhome. They did the job cooling the whole home, even on 100 degree days. The only thing they struggled with was reaching all the way to the kitchen if I had the oven on.

Third time's a charm
Ok so I get my order and the whole case is smashed and dented like someone sat on it. It worked but it was dented bad. I called Amazon and they send a replacement but they don't want the 1st one returned.. Strange.
The second comes and it looks great set it turn it on and.. CLACK, CLACK, CLACK, CLACK, !!! OMG what going on here? Me being handy I open it. The fans plastic enclosure is cracked and laying on the blade. So I call Amazon and let the person hear it. TURN IT OFF! He said 🤣 Sending another one. I ask ' should I return this one? No junk it again.

Third one comes and its box look like it was open and returned but thank god it worked.
I took the cover from the second one and put it on the 1st one that worked and voilà!! 2 for the price of one.
I didn't understand why they did not want the units back unless they knew they were damaged or returned units beforehand. All of the boxes were taped sealed but you chould see that were once stapled.
The 4 stars are for customer support and the ones that worked, worked great!!

Excellent AC! I search for a long time to find one that is small, works quietly and blows air upwords. My AC is set right next to a sofa and I didn't want the cold air to blow into my head/face. Great product. My sister is purchased the same one on my recommendation and she is very pleased.

Small, light A/C unit that works well for smaller windows and rooms. I was able to easily handle installing this into a horizontally-sliding window alone. Low fan speed is very quiet, not a lot of vibration noise compared to A/Cs I've purchased even 5 years ago. Air blows up, not out, so no freezing cold blasts onto your sleeping body while your toes roast. Has energy-saving mode and remote control with digital thermostat, features not typically found at a super low price point. (I purchased this A/C for about $155.)

Energy-saving mode will cause the A/C to turn on and off as it needs to to maintain room temperature. If the temp outside is cooling down to room temperature, or just heating up beyond room temperature, you may find it turning on and off frequently until it settles to either off or running constantly. I've seen this with other units as well and I believe it's just the way the feature works in general. Extra insulation around the unit helps. There's a normal cool mode and fan mode provided as well if you don't like this.

Window fins suck -- they don't actually screw into the A/C, they screw into your window sill so they kind of just flap around when you're trying to install it. The main A/C body doesn't screw into anything, but it's so light (~39 lbs) that I'm not concerned.
