It's no secret how this works but the fact that I've used it for 1 day with 3 cats and there is not one piece of litter on the carpet is Magical. This box is in my bedroom and it drive me crazy constantly seeing litter everywhere. Yes the mat is expensive but I expect it to be the last mat I ever buy. I've likely spent as much or more on previous solutions that didn't work like this.
One word of caution - buy a mat size relevant to the size of your litter box. Don't get the extra large to use with a small mat. You certainly can but you will likely make a mess emptying the mat back in the box. The picture is an extra large mat with an oversized box. I almost got everything back on the carpet because I didn't catch that.

Good Mat But Way Too Expensive

Still trying it out and not exactly convinced it catches more litter than just a regular mat or even just a rug. It may appear to catch a tad more litter than the yoga type litter mat I paid $20 for but it is hard to tell as it is on carpet and some scatter still gets in the carpet. Whether the scatter is less or the same as the other mat is hard to tell. Still, it does the job at least as well as my other mat and is easy enough on bare feet and my cats don't seem to mind it, so for now, it is the mat being used. It is a good mat and I like the stiffness of it for picking up and pouring litter back into the box, but for what it is, a litter mat, the price is way too expensive and I would think a less expensive one would do the job as well. Not worth the expensive price in my opinion so I could not give it a full five stars.

I got this mat a couple of weeks ago and it has changed everything. If anyone has the cat genie you know how annoying those little pellets are. They stick to your feet until you actually pull them off and they wind up all over the house. This mat has totally changed that. I attached a picture which shows all the pellets in the holes of the mat. We have not emptied the Mat since we've received it. I opted for the large one since I had the room and figured the bigger it was the more pellets it can hold. It is truly amazing. Only wish I bought it sooner. Worth every penny.

I did a lot of research and decided to buy this one because the holes were large and the stitches looked sturdy. I bought the biggest one available to place in front of my 2 cat boxes, side by side. It catches all the litter. I was worried that the raised bumps would bother the cats but they don't mind and when I kneel on it, it's actually rather soft. It is easy to empty but such a large mat in such a tight spot required my husband's help just to avoid making a mess. I highly recommend this, especially for clumping litter users. It's a life (and sanity) saver.

I have 3 cats, and they seem to track litter everywhere. Maybe they're messy or maybe it's the dark brown walnut litter on the beige carpet. Either way, I need a better solution than vacuuming every day. This mat really helps with the litter getting everywhere. While I still have to vacuum twice a week, it's better than every day. This mat makes a big difference!
