I bought this for my trip to death valley and I was impressed on how well it worked in the extreme heat(Just Remeber lighter colors are better for this). My head and face was well protected and the brim managed to keep its shape. Even with the surprise shower, It kept my head dry and cool. Though I am a person with a large head (7 1/2+) The hat's fit was snug, so before the trip I wore it around my house until it stretched out enough that it was comfortable.
