No on/off switch

This is a great little timer. The difference between this and the slightly larger version is this one does not have an on/off switch if you want to temporarily override the program, so don't use them where you might need to turn that light on.
Not so simple & lacking… but...

I have dealt with many different timers in my long life"¦ recent ones digital got too complicated and very old ones (about 20 years) still work but you do get used to new technology, so I do prefer to see numbers instead of sticking things to mark the time and they are not accurate. When I saw "Simple" on this one I was so happy and it did look like simple"¦ however, easier said than done. And this is a correction of my first thoughts: Once you figure it out and set them up, I am sure you will be happy with them. However, I had to take off a star because they should have an on-off switch for when you want to overrule the programming and turn the lamp on.
Great for a twice-a-day battery charge

This is a good solution for a recharge of an electronic device battery recharge, for me it's a portable wifi device. The only negative s that it isn't easy to setup as there are small indicators to indicate the timer is activated, which is not clear in the instructions (thus losing a star).
it is still working.

its programming is a little odd but all timers have their own programming in them.
I think I had to reset this 1 time and reprogram it again.
I use it for basking lights for a couple dragon tanks.

Simple, reliable timers!

These are great (so far!) I have a bazillion timers in my house for all the festive ambiant lighting that I require to get through this thing we call life. My old-school timers are aging and have started making clicking noises, so I'm slowly replacing them with digital versions.
To my horror, the first digital timers I bought required a doctorate in engineering to set the programs.
Then I found these babies! I could set the time and the two timer-schedules without having to look at the instructions. Simple, easy! A lifesaver!
So far, they've been accurate and reliable. (I will revisit this review if they start gaining/losing minutes).
BEWARE: Upon initially setting them up, it may take until the next timer cycle for them to work. (If you're setting it up, and it's supposed to be 'on' at the clock time you just set, it won't actually turn on until the next day). That threw me off, but after researching and figuring it out, i was happy to see all the lights turned on/off at the appropriate time the next day.
BEWARE: There is no manual "on" option for these. You would have to unplug the timer from the wall and plug the device directly into the wall outlet if you want the device on all the time/not on a timer. (This isn't an issue for me.)
