Good job Bandai!

Even though some of the parts fit together a little loosely (I recommend gluing the loose pieces), the high detail is definitely worth the price. And the model is a serious challenge to paint.
Awesome model kit but the lighting features really frustrates

This is an awesome kit of the U.N.C.F. Dreadnought from Space Battleship Yamato 2202. The build assembly is relatively quick and easy requiring almost no glue although I do suggest some Tamiya thin cement for some of the smaller pieces to prevent them from falling off. You don't even really need to paint it although you certainly could if you wanted to. It's easy to apply the panel lines with TAMIYA 87131 Panel Line Accent Color Black For Plastic Model Kit.
The only real negative aspect of this kit is the lighting. It includes 2 small Bandai Gundam LED lights for the Wave Motion Gun on the bow and one for the bridge lights. They DO NOT include the 4x LR41 lithium batteries so you will need to purchase them separately. It also does not include the "optional" LED lighting module for the engines which I had to purchase on ebay and ship from Japan for an additional $30 that took almost another month to receive. Why Bandai did not include this makes absolutely no sense as I would have gladly paid more for the kit if it had included everything. It also makes no sense why you would have to partially disassemble the kit just to turn on 3 separate LED lights just to illuminate it. What they SHOULD have done was wire everything into a single Arduino electronic ribbon module with lights and sound effects just like the Andromeda class kits. It would have made a lot more sense. Sure, the kit would have cost twice as much but I'd have gladly paid a lot more for one simple lighting rig that could be controlled by switches and buttons on the display stand as opposed to having to buy an optional LED kit, batteries and disassembling my model every time I wanted to turn it on at the risk of breakage.
