So depending what you want them for, they get the job done. As for myself. I use them to display my steelbook movies. The downside is they are very fragile, and can be quite difficult to put together. On some of them the plastic shape was not quite cut perfectly and some plastic remains which you have to try to break off without breaking the stand. I broke 2 of mine. There seems to be a lack in quality control. Once they are together they are very difficult to adjust or slide the back stand so you can decide the degree or angle of what you are displaying. Honestly though, for the price, and a little extra work put in. They are worth what you pay for.

Go with the clear acrylic. It's perfect for comic books and the horizontal slide and vertical extender help you get that perfect upright look to your book. Only caveat is assembling you have to be gentle squeezing the bottom piece inward as you also push firmly the upright piece over the bottom part. Snapping it over. It's a bit hard the first time but you get 5 of them if you break one being too firm.

I'm using these to hold up items so I can take pictures of items and put them up for sale. I'd rather have this than my hand as it would distract from the item. Works perfectly for dvd/cd, video game cases, plates, odd shaped items that could use something to lean against.
I did have to cut one down from the base since it was too long for my light box but it didn't cause any cracks in the material. The plastic is so clear that you can see items just fine and doesn't cause any shine in the pics I've taken.
I still haven't had issues with the single piece I've had so I used the extras to hold up things around the house like holiday decorations such as plates.

Not sturdy enough for large items

Based on the size of the item I can fit in this stand, it is not sturdy enough. Easy to assemble and adjust. It will hold my smaller bowls but not platters or larger serving bowls.
