Watersnake T24 ASP - 24 Pound Thrust 12v Electric Saltwater Trolling Motor with Kayak Bracket

Key features
- •If you're after lightweight and portabiliy, this is it. This motor weighs a mere 2.2kg and is ideal for powering kayaks, canoes, small dinghies and inflatable boats, especially if you have to carry your craft to the water. The simple design keeps the weight down while delivering the performance you need.
- •There is a high and low speed control, a forward and reverse switch, and extendable handle for easy steering, a 24" (61cm) shaft plus an anti-impact clip system in the mount. The two-blade propeller is a weedless design.Included is both the electric motor and the mounting bracket.
- •The motor included with this kit has 24lbs of thrust. The bracket is new and revolutionary, changing the way kayakers think about attaching their electric motor on a kayak. In the past, kayak and canoe owners were often forced to make their own.
- •This new design from Watersnake was created to make it easy to attach motors to kayaks and canoes. It is the first of its kind and will suit motors up to 34lb thrust providing the shaft diameter is not more than 25mm.
- •The universal design is suitable for most kayaks and canoes. Instructions for attaching the bracket are included and also available in a video online.

Steady and strong, but bring a rudder
RUDY RUDOLPH✓ Verified Purchase•July 13, 2023
This is a great design for attachment to a kayak. It lacks turn handles they can be tightened enough, so it tends to slide or rotate with the motor torque. There are workarounds you learn to make it behave. But because you mount to the side of a kayak, it wants to push this kayak in circles, so you need a rudder.
Motor didn’t run right out of the box.

Update: After posting below, the distributor called me and left me his personal number. He sent me a new motor that works fine. The customer service was very good. I recommend you try this if you think it will fit your needs. It's very light and the shaft is perfect length for a kayak.
The motor didn't run! After spending 3 hours adapting the mount to my kayak, including drilling holes, when I went to run it nothing happened. The motor didn't move. Tried several batteries. Motor spun easily, some type of open circuit. It's cheaply construct but I didn't expect much for t(e price. I am returning it and will buy another one since I have already customized my kayak to accept the mount. Hopefully I will have better luck t(e second time. It's very light and the perfec5 size for a side mount on kayak. If you buy one, tes5 the motor first thing.

Mount for unit

The motor has enough power. It has so much power tgat the company should really consider paying attention to the mounting bracket and the additional handle for the universal mount. One handle snapped. The newer handle that I just received just continues to spin. The most concerning part is that once the motor is on...the connections on the disc continue to move like crazy so it's useless. They should consider putting cleats so it can seat and be tightened. Overall good trolling motor if it is can be used. Wish I went with the transom mount and just made the modification on my kayak to use it that way.
Great Trolling Motor and mount for the money

I wasn't sure what to expect after reading some of the reviews. The mount others complained about is not that bad....since I own multiple kayaks I was able to easily switch the mount over to those before deciding which ones it performed best with. Now I plan to order a 2nd and 3rd motor with mount kit. Yes, it does appear to be flimsy.....however it does the job...I had no problem with it. It mounts great on my 12 ft perception pescadora...and will push the boat along on top end at 4.5 mph. Which battery to use was a big concern...I knew I needed a marine battery... lithium while ideal cost more than my kayak. I went with Mighty Max 12 35ah, mainly because of the weight
I believe it weighs around 18 lbs and other marine batteries weigh 35 plus....which was more than I wanted to lug around. After trying it out, I found I typically had 60 -70 percent of battery life after alternating between trolling at low speed and going at high speed to my fishing spot a mile away from my dock. Typically I fish no more than 3 hrs tops. I will probably order a second battery just to see how far I can go before the battery gives out. (I found at 60-70 percent it would recharge fully within an hour or less. Back to the Watersnake trolling motor...the motor mount combo is hard to beat..the fact I can use it in saltwater if I choose makes the choice even more obvious.

Overall a good quality trolling motor.

The existing mount was not strong enough to keep the motor down in the water when on the high speed setting. ( I could not get the adjustment screws tight enough to prevent the motor from pushing itself out of the water. ) Problem was easy to solve by drilling a small hole and inserting a stainless bolt to keep the motor from kicking up. Otherwise a good motor. That is why I rated 4 stars for install feature.
