What was Old is New again! Wait long enough and everything comes full circle!
soixantaine•February 23, 2018
Although units like this have been around for many years, a tech update adds features that boost appeal and playability! Just the 5 disc player alone is what drew me to this! I listen to books on cd, and 5 disc's on cd's will last for many hours. An MP3 can paly sometimes 10-12 hours! So what's not to like!
I placed this on a bedroom tall dresser and pinned the FM/AM antenna {supplied} to the wall. Reception is A-OK on almost all FM, and AM is about 80% OK.
I listen to many hours of radio everyday so a built in radio is a big plus for me, but I did view some systems that didn't include a radio!
Lastly the pre-sets are consecutive in order, so I go from FM into AM as I advance thru the stations! {no dedicated buttons to preset stations} Now
this could be just me, as I'm not real hep to some aspects, but even station searching, one after the other doesn't bother me. it just takes a few seconds and a few toe taps!

Nice Product with Ability to Play 5 CDs

Sole purpose for purchase - to load 5 CDs.The unit has good sound and the ability to program the order of the CDs. If your portable device is loaded with music? There's a USB port for connecting the device. There are two antennas for the radio - FM and AM. The instructions are a bit confusing. Amazon's tech support was helpful in clearing up issues that I had with the play sequence.
Has great sound quality

just what i was looking for. Has great sound quality, intuitive to use, and a good size. nice sleek design too. the cd player and one speaker fit together on one ikea sized book shelf (13x13?) , with other speaker spread out. i like that the speaker wire is long enough, and can be extended. They clip into old-school speaker (red and black) clip things on back if you want to use other speakers. comes with an easy to install very skinny fm antenna wire, and has great fm reception inside my solid brick house. so hard to find a good looking multi-cd player these days, this is perfect.
Good receiver for the price but you won't want the speakers

This 5-CD changer/player replaced a ten-year old Panasonic unit that would no longer play or change discs. The player's footprint was smaller than the Panasonic and it took up less room. You have to have 20/10 vision to read the labels on the remote, and it seems slow to respond. When I hooked it up and played some classical music the speakers sounded very tinny; no bass at all compared to the Panasonic. Unacceptable. When I hooked it up with the old Panasonic speakers it sounded great, with a good bass --not boom-boom, but good enough for symphonic music. I use it for background music in our open great room, and for the price it's fine for that. Sound on the FM receiver is also very good. So the main problem is the speakers are cheap and awful. I trashed them. It's hard to even find a 3 or 5 CD changer at any price these days. Over the years II have collected over 500 CD's in classical and Jazz genres and there's not way I'm converting them to mp4..
Great sound from a small unit.

I bought this little unit to replace a Bose model because the CD player no longer worked. My husband wanted another Bose but with a 5CD changer, but they don't make them any more, so I ordered this unit. It fits on our bookshelf easily and I set it up myself though I have never done anything like that before. The sound is great and it looks pretty swish sitting on the shelf. It also has bluetooth but I haven't tried that out yet. I would buy it again.
