Wrong Material Usage. Aluminum!

These quick-disconnect couplings come beautifully made in shiny gold. Problem is that they are only beautiful to look at.
Typical plumbing metal components are made mostly from brass (some from stainless steel). Instead, these are made from soft aluminum with gold anodising (thin gold surface finish) to look like brass.
With water pressure turned ON, it only took a few rotation before this swivel coupling does not freely rotate any more. On disassembly, the aluminum at the retention groove shows galling (severe wear). See above photos.
It is obvious this product has never gone through product testing at all. Not once.
A little grease before first use would be of help, but only for short term. The slightly alkaline city water (where I live) would turn the aluminum into white fuzz (corrosion) after a few months any way.

I haven't used this yet but having just opened the box I noticed something I should have paid more attention to in the 1st bullet of the product description, "Without flow stopper,KEEP water flowing." This is not really as clear as it could be. What is meant is that when disconnecting these the water supply needs to be 1st shut off. This is because, unlike other products, the female connector does not have a "flow stopper". I have included some photos and videos to show what this looks like and how it works. Essentially, with a "flow stopper" valve the water pressure forces a "flow stopper" valve shut on the female connector when you disconnect the hose, thus stopping the water flow and preventing the user from getting sprayed.

I have ordered 24 sets of Quick Connects over the last 6 months. All are now leaking because the metal parts in contact with the water are pitting and corroding. Looks like the main alloy Aluminum and the platting are setting up a galvanic reaction, in the presence of water, which is destroying the sealing surfaces. I have contacted Topu Mall the distributor and they don't know what to do about it other than to refund the purchase price. This product has very limited life so will switch to a better quality design not using this combination of metals.

I purchased these a while ago and just got around to using them. To be fair, I knew they were cheap from the other reviews, but I was planning on using them in a stationary application where the hose would not be moving, so I thought I could get away with the cheap connectors. Unfortunately, the female connector threaded ring will not fit over the hose, so I pulled a little on the core and the flange broke completely off right off in my hand. Down a connecter the price just went up, I could have gotten the more expensive connector.
So if you do get these, be aware that they are not suitable for an application where the hose is going to be moving around, and you have to be very gentle and very careful to not have them break when you are installing them.

I have used these for several months on hoses with 24/7 pressure on.
FIVE STARS for working fine so far, no known significant leaks.
ZERO STARS for vendor not disclosing what they know, i.e., these WILL NOT WORK WITH STANDARD WASHERS.
When one of these device's washers wears out you have to either discard the device or come back here and order the Seller's special washers ("Garden Hose Washer for 3/4" Hose Quick Connect, 10 Piece").
In the attached photo, yellow arrow points to a special contour of these devices' custom washers. For those buyers who complain of leaks, it is key to note that the actual water seal is due to the male portion (red arrow) pressing tightly against the specially shaped washer (yellow arrow). The rust colored washer shown is generic from Ace Hardware, that fits every other garden hose device I've ever owned.
