Upon trial find the flavor mild. Th texture softer then store bought. Work very well in cereal and recipes or stand alone snack.
I store the box in the fridge and fill the container on a shelf for daily use.

I prefer American walnuts to English walnuts which seem insipid. Black walnuts from Hammons Company are gathered by people in Missouri and Arkansas and their nutmeats separated in Missouri. The quality is always exceptional.

For black walnuts these are large size chunks, relatively uniform in size. Having grown and picked these at home, I know how hard the shells are and extracting the nutmeat is not easy, unless you're a squirrel - even they abandon the tough ones - and what they bury produces future black walnut trees. Definitely not to be compared with English walnut which is larger/softer/milder. Black walnut meat is more solid, comparatively bitter, and aromatic. When freshly cracked, there is a sweet initial overtone that fades soon. Great nutritionally, great for a pleasant surprise in baked treats. Add to cereal, oatmeal, waffles, pancakes: conveniently sized. Or just eat a handful - you might be pleasantly surprised.
